A fantastic effort by our ‘Spring Cleaners’ today, who took to the roads and laneways around Loughanleagh & M**f for our annual Spring Clean as part of 🌱🌿

Red Bull cans and deli food wrappers were this year’s most common rubbish finds, with vapes and coffee cup lids close behind.

Thank you Jonathan & the The Anglo-Celt for this informative read about Loughanleagh, and for your kind words about our work in preserving and promoting this special place - including our new brochure.

‘This group has done a magnificent job in promoting Loughanleagh and the surrounding district, which they describe as a ‘a hidden gem in Cavan’s Ancient East’. The brochure is a must have for walkers, historians, artists, poets, and nature lovers who make it their business to visit.’

Have you seen the new mural in Bailieborough?

Located at the recently renovated Bailieborough Bridewell & Courthouse, it features the Corleck Head, an Iron Age stone carving, and local historian Tom Barron, as well as a signpost to nearby Loughanleagh, Castle Lake and Moybologue.

The mural was brought to life by the Irish street artist ADW. Well done to all involved.

A big thank you to all our volunteers and participants who walked with us in today’s St Patrick’s Day Parade showcasing the best of the Loughanleagh & M**f region ☘️

We were even blessed to have St Padraig himself join us for the occasion 🙏

Thanks to Parrot Signs Print Display for our new banner, and well done to the Kingscourt Community Development Association on hosting a great afternoon, it takes a huge team of people behind the scenes to organise the parade, and without them it wouldn’t be possible.

Follow in St Patrick’s footsteps and explore Loughanleagh's fascinating history, where myth and legend blend.

According to folklore, a Cailleach (an old hag or witch) created the cairns by dropping stones across Loughanleagh.

One famous tale tells of St. Patrick protecting a congregation on Loughanleagh Mountain by fending off a young woman turned Cailleach with his staff, leaving the mark of his knee imprinted on a stone near the picnic area - now known as the Mass Rock.

Why not pay a visit over the St. Patrick's Day holiday and see it for yourself?
