Norovirus, also known as the winter vomiting bug, can be caught at any time of the year. It is an easily spread virus that causes sudden onset of vomiting and diarrhoea. Norovirus is circulating in Ireland.

The first ever National Mental Health Experience Survey is underway, and we want to hear about your experiences of inpatient mental health care.

Eligible participants will have been discharged from an inpatient mental health unit or hospital between April and July 2026, and will receive an invitation by post. If you receive an invitation, please consider taking part. What you tell us will help identify what is working well and what can be improved in inpatient mental health care across Ireland, so it’s important that we hear from as many people as possible.

Your answers will be anonymised, and combined with other answers to produce publicly available reports on the experiences of inpatient mental health care in Ireland.

Fill out the paper survey that you receive by post, or scan the QR code on your invitation letter to complete the survey online.

The National Mental Health Experience Survey is a joint initiative of the Department of Health, Mental Health Commission and the Health Service Executive, facilitated by the National Care Experience Programme.

Back to school is just around the corner, so we're urging all motorists to take care on the roads, particularly near schools and in built up areas.

Be mindful of pedestrians and cyclists, we all share the road.

We'd ask parents to ensure that your child is visible when walking or cycling to school, and if you're driving always make sure everyone has put on their seat belts.
