* Improve the position of the area in the national and local competitions.

Laois County Council is actively working with the Tidy Towns Committees to help invest in their future and ensure continued growth and development. Assistance is given to the groups in the form of the Tidy Towns Grants, Summer Wheelie Bin Scheme, participation in Clean Up Laois Week, the Laois Federation of Tidy Towns Competition and Awards. Workshops are also held and available in relation to composting and waste minimisation and on under topics through LA21 Projects and by booking free workshops through Ann-Marie Kelly, Environment Awareness Officer.
