It is with great sadness that I share the following notice from RIP.ie, of the unexpected and untimely passing of our friend and former member, Sean Bourke. For many years, and right up until recently, Sean was not only a regular participant in our leagues but also a constant presence as caretaker and league helper at the court. Many of us have cherished memories of playing competitive matches against him or simply having conversations while watching other games. He will be truly missed by all of us at Killala Squash Club. World Junior Championships

The Ireland Under 19 team are going to the World Junior Championships in Houston, USA from July 10h to 24th.

The Individual event is on from July 12th to the 17th and then the team event is from July 18th to the 23rd.

The team is Danny Lynch (GLTC Squash Galway), Conal Jackson (Leinster Squash), Tristan Snodgrass (Leinster Squash), Yuv Pahuja (Ulster)

The team are fundraising to help towards the considerable cost of going to Texas for 2 weeks. They have set up a Go Fund Me Page and ask if you would consider making a contribution please.

Join us on Friday, June 28th, for a special fundraiser supporting the Irish U19 Squash team heading to Houston, Texas! Led by our own Danny Lynch, the team aims to raise €4,000 per player.

We’re hosting a squash blitz event and a separate extra badminton club night —everyone is welcome! Afterward, enjoy a gathering and raffle in the bar, with all profits supporting the team.

**PS thanks to the Killala festival committee for sponsoring the tshirts for the squad they looked very well yesterday!**
Well done to all our juniors who participated in the Connacht Junior Close yesterday. Particular mention to Michael Gough 2nd place U17, Johnny Lynn 3rd place U15 and Jack Mcloughlin 3rd place U11. A special mention too to our coaches Colm and Sean for all their effort. Thanks to GLTC and David Noone for hosting this great event.

Connacht Junior closed has been refixed for 27th January 2024 and is now open for entries. This is a one day event sanctioned by Irish Squash.

The event is open to Connacht players only with the emphasis very much on fun and a few laughs.

Entry is only €15. All those who have registered are automatically enterered again but there is an option to to get your money back if you cannot make it. Withdrawal Deadline: Sun 21 Jan 2024.

A great start the league semifinals today as our 2 coaches went head to head in the first match. Well done Sean in beating our club no.1 Colum 3-1 in an epic battle. The league final will take place on Friday night starting at 7pm, spectators more than welcome!
