Taking Action for Whole Health and Wellbeing Workshops taking place in the centre on Tuesdays 14th and 21st of July. This workshop is excellent for taking time for you to look after you. The workshops are being run by Mental Health Ireland. Among other things, the workshops will support you to:
•Believe in yourself, make your own choices, learn new things, be part of your community, and speak up for your needs,
•Take care of your physical health through exercise, healthy eating, good sleep, getting enough daylight,
•Explore practices or other wellbeing approaches that help you feel balanced and connected
•Make plans for handling triggers, noticing early signs of difficulty, coping during tough times, and recovering after a crisis or setback
•Find meaningful work or activities, stay motivated, and create a healthy, fulfilling lifestyle plan

We are happy to announce that the support groups are back at Hope Cottage every Tuesday for Women 7-9 pm and every Wednesday for men 7-9pm.

A free 'Know Your Community' event is coming to Athy, Co Kildare, on Thursday, 28th May.

Residents of Athy and its surrounding areas are being invited to attend the event, which is being organised by County Kildare Leader Partnership CLG., SICAP Programme, and other national and local agencies, including Kildare County Council, Sláintecare Healthy Communities, the Health Service Executive (HSE) Health Promotion Unit and the Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA)(Athy).

Organisations in attendance will include Athy Youth Diversion, Grow Mental Health, ALONE and the National Learning Network

The event will feature free refreshments, opportunities to meet new people, a free health check provided by the Irish Heart Foundation, and interactive activities including a Smoothie Bike. There will also be a competition to win one of five €50 Eason vouchers on the day.

The Athy ‘Know Your Community’ event will take place on Thursday, May 28th, 2026, at the Church of Ireland Community Centre in Athy (Eircode: R14 HX26). From 10am to 2pm.
