Goodbye, sweet Lily 💔. Any visitors to the garden over the summer would have met this lovely girl, and her 3 gorgeous kittens! Lily appeared, quite literally, from behind a bush back in May, pregnant, and brewing a horrific leg infection. We tried to trace her owners, as she was so friendly we thought she must be a pet, but to no avail. We meant to rehome her, but got too attached! Her kittens arrived in June and were great fun to have around, entertaining everyone who visited, especially any kiddies who stopped by. Sadly, after doing what we thought was the right thing by getting her neutered, she died from complications, or perhaps from an underlying condition, despite getting the best treatment from the vet. She had become part of the crew, was spoiled rotten and we all adored her. We won't be getting another cat since we are a biodiversity project and cats and birds don't go well together, and we're delighted to say that the 3 kittens have gone together to a wonderful new home! Thanks, Lily, for the joy you brought to us. To the world you were just a cat, but to us you were our little pet, and much more.
