As part of the Ballyhoura Guided Walk Series, join Oonagh Kelly of .ie on Saturday 4 July for a guided walk along the beautiful Canon Sheehan Loop in Glenanaar Forest.

Named after Canon Patrick Augustine Sheehan, one of Ireland's best-known writers and parish priests, this scenic trail follows the Ogeen River through peaceful woodland and crosses between Counties Cork and Limerick along the way. Discover hidden features including a natural well and a historic Mass Rock, while enjoying fine views across the Blackwater Valley towards the Nagle and Knockmealdown Mountains.

What a fantastic day on the trails for our Castle Oliver & Ballyhoura Loop with local guide Declan Clancy.

We had a great turnout, beautiful weather, and plenty of stories along the way as Declan shared the fascinating history of Castle Oliver and the surrounding area.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it such an enjoyable day.

🎨 Looking for a creative day out in Ballyhoura this June?

The Art for the Heart Doneraile Arts Festival returns from 25–28 June 2026, bringing four days of art, creativity and inspiration to the beautiful town of Doneraile.

Visitors can enjoy a programme of workshops, exhibitions and two popular Plein Air Painting events, offering plenty of opportunities to get involved or simply soak up the artistic atmosphere.

🎭🌳 Step Back in Time at Doneraile Park & Gardens 🌳🎭

Join The Verdant Troupe on Sunday, 7th June for a unique experience where history, theatre and heritage come together in the beautiful setting of Doneraile Park.

You will be guided by the group's newest tour guide, Celia Lane, who many may know as the proud owner of Park South Accommodation. Celia will lead visitors on a fascinating journey through over 400 years of Doneraile's rich history, bringing the stories, characters and heritage of the estate to life.

Along the way, members of The Verdant Troupe will emerge from the shadows of time to bring historical characters to life, creating an immersive experience unlike any other.

Part guided walk, part live theatre, and full of local history, this is a wonderful afternoon for anyone with an interest in heritage, storytelling and the outdoors.
