🔥 Samhain at the Crossroads – The Final Gathering! 🔥

✨ Join us in Kilfinane this Saturday, 17 October, for a magical evening of lanterns, music, storytelling and community as we celebrate the ancient traditions of Samhain.

As twilight falls, we'll gather at the Fountain in Kilfinane before setting off on a lantern procession to Ballyhoura Apple Farm. 🏮

Enjoy an evening filled with music, costumes, stories, song and dance, with refreshments provided. A special opportunity to come together, celebrate local creativity and welcome the darker half of the year.

👻 Come in disguise so the spirits don’t steal you into the Otherworld...

For ceramic artist Clair Jones of Lough Gur Pottery, place is an important part of every piece she creates.

Living and working near Lough Gur, Clair draws inspiration from a landscape that has been home to people for over 6,000 years – and from the ancient pottery discovered there. The patterns and carved surfaces of those archaeological finds continue to influence the techniques and designs she uses in her own work today.

But Lough Gur Pottery is also about sharing the craft. Through hands-on workshops and pottery experiences, visitors can slow down, work with clay, create something themselves and connect with Lough Gur and its heritage in a very different way.

It’s a lovely example of how an ancient story can inspire a contemporary local business – keeping traditional skills, creativity and a strong sense of place at its heart.

Learn the skill of whistling a tune while enjoying a gentle ramble through the waterfalls of Poulnadiha and the ancient Killeen Fields.
This magical walk is part of the Joyce Brothers Music Festival in collaboration with the 30th Ballyhoura Walking Festival. This gentle evening walk will be led by whistler extraordinaire Anita Bennis.
Along the way, participants will have the opportunity to learn the skill of whistling a tune, combining a relaxed countryside walk with a little of the musical tradition at the heart of this special festival weekend.

Looking for a fun family activity during the 30th Ballyhoura Walking Festival?

Head to Ballyhoura Farm Escape in Ballyorgan on Sunday for a relaxed morning on the farm. Take a walk around, meet, greet and feed the animals, get those all-important alpaca photos and let the little ones explore the outdoor play area and Fairy Forest. 🌿

Take a walk with a difference and discover Ballyneety Golf Club beyond the fairways as part of the 30th Ballyhoura Walking Festival.

Led by John Leamy, Manager of Ballyneety Golf Club, this 5 km guided walk follows the nature trail around the community-owned course, taking in its lakes, natural surroundings and views towards the Kerry Mountains, Shannon Estuary and Clare hills.

And there’s another reason this is a special opportunity to explore the course – Ballyneety will host the Junior Ryder Cup in September 2027.
