Join Newbridge Active Retirement group next Monday, 19th October as they kindly host a Cuppa for Kare in Hawkfield.

There'll be tea, coffee, treats and chats, and all are welcome!

William loves keeping up to date with current affairs but was reliant on others to help him read the latest news. With the support of our Assistive Technology department, William decided to try out a reader pen, a handheld scanner that moves over writing on a printed page, ‘reading’ the text into the device and then speaking it out loud.

Using the reader pen has opened up more than just being able to read the newspaper for William. He joined his local library where he can read whatever he wants without needing support from others, helping him to be more independent and involved in his community.

We're proud to share our 2025 Annual Report.

Our biggest report yet, it is jam-packed with photos and stories of the people we support doing the things they want to do.

It also outlines our operations, governance and financial performance in 2025, reflects on our previous strategic plan, and looks ahead to the future as we begin delivering on our new Strategic Plan 2026-2030.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to this year's report and to the people we support, their families, our staff, volunteers, Board members, partners and supporters for your ongoing commitment to Kare. We look forward to building on this work in the years ahead.

Congratulations to this year's Local Training Initiative participants who we celebrated at the LTI Appreciation Ceremony last week 🎉

The LTI has been part of Kare for more than 25 years. Fully-funded by Kildare and Wicklow ETB Training Services, it offers a QQI Level 5 Major Award in Intellectual Disability Practice through a combination of taught modules, work placements and practical learning in Kare services.

We are delighted that the majority of this year’s completing group have secured permanent roles with Kare, demonstrating the real impact of the LTI for the participants, for Kare, and for the people we support.

The Life Credit Union Community Fund Recipient Event last weekend was a great chance to meet other community groups and take in some fantastic performances by local talent 🎶🤩🤝

Breda, Joe and Anthony who are supported by our residential team attended on behalf of Kare, along with Corrinne Concannon our Fundraising Manager.

We are very proud to have Life CU as a Kare Community Champion. The support we receive from them helps us to enhance our services, most recently the development of two sensory areas for our new day service opening in Newbridge soon.

Huge thanks to Keith O'Brien and all at Life CU for a very enjoyable afternoon!

A great day out as part of the Barrow Blueway Inclusive Initiative recently. With adaptive equipment and an inclusive approach, a group of people we support could enjoy a trip along this scenic route.
