Racing Career Highlights: Chacaun Pour Soi ran 22 times under rules when trained in Closutton and recorded 9 wins, six of which were Grade 1’s.. In the 2020/2021 season Chacun Pour Soi recorded 3 grade run wins including the Champion Chase at the Punchestown Festival.

Second Career: Chacaun Pour Soi was retired in April 2023 and went straight to Katie Walsh’s yard. Katie had eyed him up for her role on RTE Racing, whereby Chacun Pour Soi is used to interview the winning jockey on the track. As part of this role, Chacun Pour Soi has also been part of the “Meet the Racehorse” experience at Leopardstown Racecourse during Dublin Racing Festival this year.

The clinic with cater for thoroughbreds beginning their retraining right up to the thoroughbred in competition.

There will be three groups:
👉11am - 80cms Show Jumping
👉12pm - 80/90cms Show Jumping
👉1pm - 90/1metre Show Jumping

Racing Career Highlights: Barberton was unplaced in six runs on the flat when trained first by Jeremy Noseda, and then by Paddy Rogers between August 2011 and July 2013.

Second Career: Barberton is now owned by Carol Coad and competed by her daughter, Rosie at EI110(J) level in Eventing Ireland. Last year, they had an outstanding first season as a combination, placing in the top 6 in all but one of their 12 runs. This meant they were the winners of the Treo Eile Thoroughbred League for 2025. Barberton was previously competed by Sarah Curry and Kara Stanbridge prior to striking a partnership with Rosie.

Did you know thoroughbreds are used in Educational settings?

Robert Hall talks about “Horses for Hope,” a course available to prisoners in Castlerea Prison used to educate participant on how to look after a horse. The horses used on the course are all thoroughbreds except for one, and are rotated regularly to ensure they enjoy it too!

Thoroughbreds can do it all 🫶🏼

👉 UPDATE 👈

We have recognised that there are horses competing outside of the Sports Membership profile and Treo Eile have extended our agreement with Showjumping Ireland to include the registration of horses, at any level, that wish to compete with Ireland this year.

The same process is in place as the Sports Member Registration, whereby owners need to complete the registration process and prior to payment, contact the SJI office for validation and verification.

We look forward to seeing everyone out competing throughout the year!
