Here is a helpful guide to what you may need for the day for all our walkers taking part in this year's Knockmealdown Crossing 2026 .

Its important you take notenof the items on the essential list depending on weather.

All and any volunteers on the day will ensure everyone has proper hiking boots. (No boots No walk). Please adhere to all leaders instructions on the day as with so many walkers booked in, safety followed by everyone's enjoyment is the our top priority!

Feel free to ask any questions if unsure. Make sure you paxk all your own essentials.

15 years ago this week, Cancer Connect took to the road for the very first time 💜

In our first year, 120 volunteers completed 300 journeys, 120 volunteers, supporting 160 patients and covering over 50,000 kilometres — all to make getting to treatment a little easier.

From the very beginning, the goal was simple:
to remove the stress of travel so patients could focus on what really matters — their health.

15 years on, that mission hasn’t changed.

What started as a small, community-driven service in West Cork has grown into a county-wide lifeline, with over 65,000 journeys completed thanks to the dedication of our volunteer drivers and the support of our community.

This milestone belongs to our incredible volunteer drivers, our passengers, and every person who has supported us along the way.

🚗 Here’s to the next 15 years.
