CFR Gorey

CFR Gorey A voluntary organisation which provides pre hospital emergency care to those who suffer cardiac arrest or other life threatening medical emergencies.

Gorey CFR is a voluntary organisation which provides pre hospital emergency care to those in our community who suffer cardiac arrest or other life threatening medical emergencies. Very often, emergencies occur when we least expect. The National Ambulance Service (NAS) simply cannot provide cover in all areas 24/7. CFR Gorey provide a back up to NAS and in their absence, aim to respond to such emer

gencies and therefore reduce the time which there is trained personnel arriving on the scene. It is widely known that the first 10 minutes of a cardiac arrest are crucial to the patient's chance of survival. In these 10 minutes, the first links in what is know as "The Chain of Survival" are put in motion. We wish to provide these links for our community and have the most rapid trained response possible for the people if that emergency occurs. If you think you have what it takes don't hesitate to contact us for any further information through any of our contact links on this page. No experience, prior knowledge or training is required as all will be provided.

🚴 100km Cycle for Gorey First Responders – Completed! 🚴‍♀️

What an incredible day! A huge thank you to Ryan Gibney and Jordon Scanlan from Screwloose for organising this amazing event and smashing the 100km — even with a flat tyre and broken gears! 💪

Massive shoutout to our very own first responder Sinead Brogan for completing the cycle too — what an absolute queen! 👑

Big thanks to Mizzoni's Pizza - Gorey for their incredibly generous donation 🍕, and to our sponsors Rascor Weatherglaze, and PTSB for their support. 🙌

Thanks also to Derek Webb for the cool T-shirts 👕, Gorey Red Cross for providing ambulance cover 🚑, and Declan Gibney at Work Safe for marshalling the event.

Finally, a huge thank you to everyone who came out to cheer us on and support such a great cause. ❤️

Hi - My name is Ryan Gibney. Myself and Jordan from Screwloose Conditioning Gym in Gorey are raising vital funds for Gorey First Responders.

We will be challenging ourselves to a 100km cycle on November 1st to raise vital funds for the First responders.

Gorey First Responders are a fully voluntary group of men and woman who give up so many hours of their time to help save lives in Gorey. They are on call 24/7 and respond to cardiac arrests that happen in our town.

Our aim is to raise vital funds and awareness for the First Responders so they can have the most up to date equipment needed in the case of an emergency. We all know how busy the ambulance service can be when you need them - with these amazing trained volunteers in Gorey they can provide crucial life saving procedures before the ambulance arrives.

100% of the money raised will go towards new B.L.S equipment including new defibrillators, pads and crucial life saving equipment.

We really hope the people of Gorey can come together and support these amazing volunteers who would do anything to support us in a time of need.

Thank you !
Ryan , Jordan and all the team of First Responders in Gorey.
