🌳 €50,000 Investment for Ballycanew Community Park 🌳
As the year comes to a close, we are delighted to announce that an investment of €50,000 has been secured for the procurement of space and planning for a new Community Park in Ballycanew – a major step forward for our village.
This project is the result of strong collaboration between the local community, Wexford County Council and our local councillor Pip Breen, and it follows a community survey which clearly showed that a park is a real necessity for Ballycanew.
Over the past 12 years, the Ballycanew and Ballyoughter Development Association has worked hard to deliver positive projects for the area, including:
• A community resource centre with an active retirement group
• A community garden with potting shed and greenhouse
• A Fab Lab with 3D printers and laser cutters
• Our newest initiative – a Plastics Lab, promoting recycling, education and circular economy skills
This new park will build on all of that work, creating a safe, accessible space for all ages and a real focal point for the village.
Our Development Association and its volunteers continue to work tirelessly on behalf of the community, and we hope 2026 will bring great opportunities for Ballycanew and Ballyoughter. 💚 fansBallycanew National SchoolSpringmount Garden CentreCourtown Community CouncilFionntán Ó Súilleabháin TDOne For The RoadSizzles Takeaway BallycanewBrooks BallycanewCaffeinated Ballycanew Goslins PubPercival's BallycanewBallycanew Lights CommitteeBallycanew Classic and Vintage ClubLoveGorey.ieBallycanew Tidy TownsGorey Community Development Group
