That’s a wrap! 🍂

Our September–October courses have now finished, Tai Chi, Willow Weaving in Gorey FRC and Riverchapel, Learn to Sew, Sound Baths and Chair Yoga. We have just one more week of our singing course to enjoy! 🎶

Thank you to all our wonderful participants for joining us and for the amazing feedback.

Our November Sound Bath courses at 9.30am and 6pm are now fully booked, we have a couple of places available at 4pm.

🌸 World Menopause Day | 18 October 2026

Menopause, Mental Health and Wellbeing: 💚 Menopause is a natural stage of life, but you don't have to go through it alone. Support, understanding and connection can make a real difference.

The changes that come with perimenopause and menopause can affect much more than physical health. Some women experience anxiety, low mood, irritability, disrupted sleep, reduced confidence or difficulties with memory and concentration, often described as brain fog.

For some, these changes are manageable. For others, they can have a significant impact on everyday life, relationships, work and emotional wellbeing.

Every woman's experience is different, and every woman deserves to feel heard, understood and supported.

💚 Support Through Your Local Family Resource Centre

While FRCs do not provide specialist menopause treatment, they can offer valuable community-based support and help you connect with other services. Many FRCs offer women's groups, wellbeing activities, self-care programmes, social activities and free or low-cost counselling, providing opportunities to connect with others, build friendships, look after your mental health and find encouragement during this stage of life.

If symptoms are affecting your wellbeing or daily life, speak to your GP about the treatment and support options available.

Please be aware that services vary between centres, so contact your local FRC to find out what's available.

A wonderful moment for Family Resource Centres across Ireland! 🎉 We are delighted to welcome President Catherine Connolly as Patron of the National Family Resource Centre Programme, and proud to be one of 136 FRCs working together to support, connect and strengthen communities across Ireland. 🇮🇪❤️

🌟 A significant moment for the National Family Resource Centre Programme

President Catherine Connolly becomes Patron of the National Family Resource Centre Programme

The Family Resource Centre National Forum is delighted to announce that President Catherine Connolly has accepted our invitation to become our Patron.

The National Family Resource Centre Programme is Ireland’s largest national family and community-based support programme, bringing together 136 Family Resource Centres across the country to collectively implement our human rights-based approach to community development and family support across the life-course, with a strong focus on prevention and early intervention.

Having visited so many Family Resource Centres before her election, and since her inauguration, President Connolly has seen first-hand the difference Family Resource Centres make. The collective vision of FRCs, that all children, families, individuals and communities will actively participate and be included in a society that is equal, equitable, inclusive, and non-discriminatory and which will enable their optimal well-being aligns closely to Catherine Connolly’s vision, to be a President for all the people, especially for those often excluded and silenced and to be a voice for equality and justice.

Addressing our National Conference in June 2026, President Connolly spoke warmly about the importance and impact of FRCs. She told those gathered that, when setting her priorities as President, shining a light on your work was top of my list. We are honoured that she has chosen to continue that support as Patron.

Her patronage is a meaningful recognition of the staff, volunteers, and voluntary directors who help make FRCs welcoming places of support, belonging, connection, action, and change across Ireland. On behalf of the 136 Family Resource Centres we represent, we thank President Connolly for recognising their collective contribution alongside their communities and we look forward to working with the President in the coming years to advance our shared vision.

We are delighted to welcome Dr. Carlotta and Marie from The Palm Surgery to Gorey Family Resource Centre on Wednesday, 7th October, from 2pm to 3pm for an informative talk about menopause.

Whether you are experiencing menopause yourself or would simply like to learn more, you are very welcome to join us.
