Special Heroes Ireland

Special Heroes Ireland Supporting families with children who have Special Needs, additional needs, Life Limiting or chronic illness and disability in Galway City & County.

Mission

Special Heroes Ireland was formed to support children who spend extended periods of time in a medical facility and their families through fun and recreational activities. We aim to enable the child and siblings to overcome the many negative effects of the illness and the extended periods of separation. Origin

Special Heroes Ireland was formed in 2015 by parents of special needs children

that have spent long extended stays in a medical facility. Many families struggled with the long periods of separation and required some way to reconnect as a family unit. We are currently based in Galway City. Special Heroes Ireland also facilitates a page and website. Membership

Our current membership is made up of families from across Ireland, with children who have/currently spending long periods of time in a medical facility due to an illness or disability. What does Special Heroes Ireland do? As stated above we aim to support children with long term illnesses or disabilities who have spent extended periods of time in a medical facility, and their families through fun and recreational activities.
