20 of our horses got their hooves trimmed today!

Thanks to our farrier and volunteers, all of them got the care they needed and deserve.
Despite the rain and wind, the horses cooperated really well and for sure now all feel better 🙏
Even Elora, our youngest one, explored curiosly what the farrier did to her mum's hooves.

A day like this includes a lot of preparation, infrastructure, moving horses and people dedicating their time and energy to the rescue. We try to give our horses as much time and patience as they need, allowing them to trust humans again and having a positive experience.

💌 If YOU want to help, you can donate or sponsor a horse to support their wellbeing and our charity.

We appreciate every little bit of support ❤️

Leon recently came back to us from foster and is now looking for his forever home 🥰

He was born in 2023 (swipe to last picture to see him as a baby) and he is a really sweet, calm and lovely boy. He is now in a field with two other yearlings who have just been castrated, and Allegro the donkey, and he has been so nice and gentle with them. Whoever is his forever human will be very lucky indeed 🤩

For inquiries about Leon, send us an email on [email protected]

Our raffle is still open, check out our stories and highlights to buy a ticket and help support rescue horses and ponies in Galway 💓

Jazi 🤩

Jazi was born with us last year and will be available for adoption this summer, she is an absolutely stunning filly with a really lovely nature.✨Next Friday she will have a farrier visit along with many other FHI horses! And soon she will go out to a different field for some summer grazing, currently they are still getting hay - it’s been a long winter! 🥶 ☔️

If you would like to support Jazi’s care, and be in with a chance of winning this stunning photographic print, consider buying a ticket for our Easter raffle (link in bio and stories). Thank you so much 😊

Let us introduce you to our first foal this year, little Pete 💙

He was born during the spring equinox and is eager to explore life.

Both himself and his mum are up and healthy.
He is a handful and a bundle of joy to the rescue.

Today was a full day at the yard! Beautiful sunshine, spring flowers and smiles made it so easy to get the work done!

🍀 6 horses got their teeth done and 2 got physio treatments. Thanks to our great vet and dentist /physio who support us year in year out with their services.

We currently have 37 horses in our care and keeping them healthy and happy requires ongoing care.
