COPE Galway service prepares and delivers hundreds of nutritious meals to people in our community and our services - thanks to a team of incredible volunteers.

We are looking for to support meal preparation and packing alongside our catering team.

Morning shifts are available throughout the week (8am-1pm). Our volunteers commit to at least one shift a week. You'll join a fun, welcoming team, get a free meal on duty, and help make a real difference in our community.

It’s been another busy, enjoyable summer at , with activities that brought people together, sparked creativity, and created lasting memories. From decorating flower pots in art workshops to our annual summer BBQ, which drew more than 60 attendees, we had something for everyone. A highlight was our day trip to , where centre clients explored the gardens, shared lunch, and enjoyed quality time together.

Alongside our regular programme of exercise classes, walking groups, coffee mornings, lunch clubs, and wellbeing workshops, these events help older people stay active, build friendships, and remain connected to a welcoming community. We look forward to welcoming both familiar and new faces in the months ahead.

A massive 🩵 to the team from Medtronic who volunteered to help rejuvenate the gardening area at our COPE Galway Charity Shop, Newtownsmith! 🌿
They rolled up their sleeves and weeded, cleared and painted - leaving the space brighter, cleaner for our shop volunteers, staff and customers to enjoy.

We're incredibly grateful to the Galway International Arts Festival team for donating 110 tickets to COPE Galway for the 2026 events. These tickets gave our clients, volunteers and supporters a wonderful opportunity to experience the festival’s vibrant atmosphere and culture.

Thanks to their generosity, 102 clients across our Homeless, Domestic Abuse and Senior Support services attended festival events this year, and we raised €1,011 for COPE Galway services through ticket sales and raffles.

From bucket-list moments to a rare days out, these tickets brought real joy and connection to people in our services. 💙 for your support and kindness and for making an impact in our community.
