Galway's rivers and canals are for everyone to enjoy. In collaboration with Galway 2020, our plan is to restore the canals and river systems to a position of prominence and pride in the cultural life of Galway; to raise awareness and reimagine the waterways as a collective centre-point in the city’s life and identity; and to create a vision in which the rivers and canals are passed down to the next generation in a much more improved state than present. You can do your part by joining the Foundation or by volunteering as an individual, a club, neighbourhood, school, church or company.
