Today, June 15, is Irish AIDS Day. Sexual Health West is thinking of those who lost their lives to AIDS related illnesses, as we continue to support people living with HIV.

and created this year’s message: Ready to Talk. Ready to Listen.

We can reduce HIV stigma across the West of Ireland by listening with empathy and understanding. Stories, memories, and experiences of HIV & AIDS should be heard, and not silenced by stigma and shame.

The Galway Sexual Health Forum, chaired by Sexual Health West, is a fantastic opportunity for local organisations and agencies to share progress, discuss research, and promote sexual health initiatives across Galway.

Yesterday we learned about the White Ribbon Programme and their vital work engaging men & boys to end gender-based violence. The White Ribbon Programme is a national project under the Men’s Development Network.

Had a lovely morning yesterday speaking at the Housing First Community of Practice webinar! The theme for yesterday was “Sexual health, female and male health perspectives”. It was great to see so much interest in the topic of sexual health from Healthcare Professionals that work with people experiencing homelessness in Ireland.

Sexual health is an often overlooked but critical aspect of wellbeing for people experiencing homelessness/housing instability.

A special thank you to Eilish who asked us to be a part of the morning!!
