Cheer Sport Ireland is the representing body for All Star Cheerleading & Dance in the Republic of Ireland.

Members of the International Cheer Union, the European Cheer Union and the Federation of Irish Sports. The CSI is governed by board members from across the country who give up their time to help develop the sport of cheerleading.

Cheer Sport Ireland is delighted to invite all affiliated members to an exclusive online Scoring Webinar with internationally recognised scoring expert Gabby Mauro.
This forms part of our ongoing commitment to coach education and the continued development of cheerleading across Ireland.

As we prepare for the 2026/2027 season, this webinar will provide coaches and programme leaders with valuable insight into both the United Scoring and Open Scoring systems, helping you better understand judging expectations and maximise your teams' scoring potential.

📢 Athlete Transfer Policy Update

Cheer Sport Ireland has updated its Athlete Transfer Policy for the 2026/2027 season, effective immediately.

The updated policy introduces a Free Transfer Window from 1 June to 31 August, while the existing three-month competition restriction from 1 September to 31 May remains unchanged.

📄 All athletes, parents/guardians and member clubs are encouraged to read the full Athlete Transfer Policy before submitting or processing a transfer.

INCA has been designed to complement your club training, not replace it!

Throughout the season, athletes will receive additional high-performance coaching from experienced national coaches, focusing on every aspect of athlete development.

Training includes:

✔ Athlete Education
✔ Safe Skill Progression

The Academy also provides athletes from clubs across Ireland with the opportunity to train together, share experiences and raise the national standard of cheerleading.

💥 What Happens on Assessment Day?

Assessment Day has been designed to identify athletes with the potential to succeed within Ireland’s national athlete development pathway.

Athletes will rotate through a series of practical assessments where our coaching team will evaluate:

🤸 Tumbling technique
💪 Stunt fundamentals and ex*****on
✨ Jumps and body control
💃 Dance ability and performance quality
📣 Motions and precision
🏃 Athleticism and physical readiness
🧠 Coachability and attitude
🤝 Teamwork and communication

This isn’t simply about who has the hardest skills, it’s about identifying athletes who are committed to learning, developing and reaching their full potential.

Successful athletes will be invited to join either the Youth or Junior Development Squad.

The Irish National Cheerleading Academy is open to registered Cheer Sport Ireland members who are committed to improving their skills and developing within a national high-performance environment.

Youth Development Squad

Ages 11–13 in 2026

Minimum Entry Standard
✔ Level 2 Stunting
✔ Level 2 Tumbling

Junior Development Squad

Ages 14–17 in 2026

Minimum Entry Standard
✔ Level 3 Stunting
✔ Level 3 Tumbling

Athletes attending assessments should also demonstrate:

• Coachability
• Strong work ethic
• Positive attitude
• Excellent sportsmanship
• Commitment to learning
• Physical readiness

Meeting the minimum skill requirements allows athletes to attend assessments. Selection is competitive and based on overall performance throughout the assessment process.
