Ballyglunin Station, famously known as "Castletown" in John Ford’s classic The Quiet Man, is a beautifully restored 19th-century railway station located in the heart of County Galway. Today, the station serves as a heritage, arts, and cultural centre, welcoming visitors from near and far, as well as a remote working hub! It hosts seasonal events, educational workshops, and community projects, while also preserving its deep connection to Irish film history and rural railway heritage.
Operated by Ballyglunin Community Development Company Limited, the station is a registered charity dedicated to maintaining and celebrating this iconic site for future generations.
