🏉 €7.5 MILLION BOOST FOR KINGSTON

Fantastic news for Galway and particularly for everyone who has worked so hard to progress the plans for Kingston.

An Tús Kingston Park has been approved for up to €7.5 million in funding under the Towns and Cities Regeneration Investment Fund, announced by Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage James Browne.

Importantly, Kingston has been approved as a Category 1B project. This category is specifically for projects that can be delivered in the short term, with projects capable of being on-site by September 2027.

That makes today’s announcement a hugely significant step forward for the Kingston project and potentially for the future of Galway Bay Rugby Club.

The proposed development has the potential to provide a long-term home for our club alongside other local sporting organisations, with quality pitches and facilities that would make an enormous difference to sport on the west side of Galway.

There is still work to be done, but up to €7.5 million in funding and a pathway towards getting on-site by September 2027 is a massive step in the right direction.

Huge credit to everyone who has worked behind the scenes to get the project to this stage. 👏🔴🔵

A very good day for sport in Galway.
