Sunday's hill walk is Maumturkmore from Glencroff. The overall distance is 15km with 600m ascent. A significant amount of the distance is on the Western Way and the ascent is broken into 2 main climbs so the hike is significant but not as strenuous as it might appear. Plan is to meet at Oughterard Car Park at 9.00. Hikers intending to take part should let Haulie know (087 2485531) by 6.00pm on Saturday. For those attending please ensure to bring the appropriate gear: boots, rain gear, gloves, sunscreen, insect repellent, hat, extra layers, hot/cold drinks, food & walking poles

5 hikers led by Fidelma headed out to tackle Letterbreckaun in the Maamturks. Weather conditions were not ideal to say the least, very misty and foggy limiting everyone's visibility so the call was made by Fidelma to abandon the hike at the coll before the summit. Given the conditions out there it was indeed the correct call for safety and welfare reasons.
