Westside Christmas Market and Family Day

The annual Westside Christmas Market and Family Day will take place here in the resource centre and in Westside Public Library on Friday 5th December.

The market opens at 10:30am and showcases a wide range of items created by our community groups supported by Galway City Partnership. All proceeds from the market go to the community groups to help fund their activities throughout the year. This is a very popular market, so be sure to come along on time to avoid disappointment.

Later in the day there will be live music, storytelling and a bumper Christmas raffle with fabulous prizes.

Le Cheile Westside CE Scheme has a vacancy for a Caretaker/Environmental worker in Westside, Galway City. To qualify for CE you must be on a qualifying payment (such as jobseekers/unemployment benefit) and be unemployed 12 months or more.
Duties will include maintaining public areas outdoors, tidying, weeding, edging, cleaning path areas, keeping the place litter free and general upkeep of the areas. This position would suit someone who has interest in plants or learning about horticulture. Role may involve some indoor maintenance when required.

Le Cheile Westside CE Scheme has a vacancy for a maintenance person in a sports club in Rahoon, Galway. To qualify for CE you must be on a qualifying payment (such as jobseekers/unemployment benefit) and be unemployed 12 months or more.
Duties will include: - Painting and upkeep of indoor and outdoor areas. - Cleaning and maintaining outdoor areas including pitches and keeping them litter free - Maintaining and cleaning all areas inside of the club house including dressing rooms, toilets and public areas. - Other duties as required.
