Celebrating a project started 11 years ago today - moving 300 square metres of sods known to contain wildflowers including orchids out of the path of the new Gort to Tuam motorway. Our thanks to the very many people who rolled up their sleeves to dig them up and load them onto trucks. Their new home is the walled area of Rinville Park in Oranmore. Cost nothing to do (the trucks were provided free by the road contractor and a local shop), just time and effort. Thanks also to Galway County Council and the National Roads Authority who facilitated it.
