We are delighted to announce that for 2026 and into the 2027 season we will form a new charitable partnership with , Galwayโs free childrenโs grief support service.
HopeSpace provides a free one-to-one support service for grieving children and young people aged 4-17 across Galway City and County who are struggling with the loss of a loved one. Their team of trained volunteers help children to process their emotions around grief, build coping skills and self-esteem, and understand that what they are feeling is a normal response to loss. Their vision is simple but powerful, that no child who has been bereaved goes unsupported.
The events kick off on Friday 12th June at 11am with a coffee morning in the Olive Tree Kitchen, where all proceeds from hot drinks and beverages on the day will be donated. More events are scheduled throughout the year from coffee mornings to adventure outings, as well as offering much needed respite trips to Wildlands for children and young people supported by HopeSpace and their families.
Over the last 21 months we have raised and donated for many local sports clubs and other charities including our previous charity partner Galway Sick Kids. We are avid supporters of local sports clubs in the area supporting Maigh Cuilinn LGFA, Cumann Peile Mhaigh Cuilinn, Cumann Iomรกnaรญochta Mhaigh Cuilinn, Moycullen Basketball Club, Rahoon/Newcastle Camogie, Galway GAA, Kinvara GAA amongst others, Cairde Pรกirc Mhaigh Cuilinnโs new pitch development, along with our long-standing charity partnership with Croรญ.
We hope to raise much needed funds and awareness for this wonderful Galway charity.
โHopeSpace is proud to have been chosen as Charity Partner of Wildlands, a venue deeply rooted in the heart of its community and committed to supporting the wellbeing of young people. This partnership will increase awareness of childhood grief and the supports available at HopeSpace. It will help us reach more families and young people who may be struggling with loss. Together we aim to build a community where no child has to navigate grief alone.โ
