Frenchpark Tidy Towns Team We are local care in action — community-led planting and environmental stewardship, heritage preservation, and creative renewal in the heart of Frenchpark, Co.

Roscommon. Frenchpark Tidy Towns is a group of passionate volunteers working together to make our village a place that feels alive, looked after, and quietly thriving. We focus on planting, pollinator support, public space improvements, creative reuse, and celebrating local history and heritage — all with an eye on long-term sustainability and small, steady progress. We also proudly champion our local businesses and services, and look for ways to connect enterprise, culture, and environmental care in the everyday life of the village. We’re not just gardeners. We’re planners, artists, grant wranglers, clean-up crews, heritage buffs, and community connectors. Together we are building something that reflects the heart of Frenchpark. If you’d like to get involved, suggest a project, or just say hello, we’d love to hear from you. We’re also happy to offer nature-friendly planting advice, pollinator support ideas, or guidance for anyone hoping to brighten up their corner of the village — big or small.

Roscommon County Council invites members of the public to have their say on and inform the publication of the first Biodiversity Action Plan for the County. 📢

The public consultation process will be in two stages with the first-round consultation open until the 29th August 2026 focusing on the Biodiversity Action Plan Discussion Paper.

Copies of the discussion paper are available online on Roscommon County Council public consultation portal or from Biodiversity Officer by e-mailing [email protected].

Submissions are welcome until 5pm on the 29th August 2026 online using the Roscommon County Council consultation portal 👉 https://ow.ly/KX3k50ZArVb or alternatively by post to: Biodiversity Officer, Roscommon County Council, Aras an Chontae, Roscommon. F42VR98.

Rolling up the sleeves and making a difference.☀️

We hope to bring this area at the cross roads, that’s became slightly over grown, back to a space where the people living and visiting Frenchpark can happily utilise. Even to sit and have have an ice-cream 🍦

This is our last BIG project of 2026. This space is being given back to the community and we are so happy to do that! 😁

Shout out to Sheila, Michael, Eva, Trevor, Natalie, Alex , Ethna and Declan who have both considered, sought permissions and kick started the clearance!

🙏🏻 Please try and help us by freshening up your houses and gardens 🌻🪴

Judging for the tidy towns competition is in full swing and the Pride of Place judges will be in Frenchpark on Tuesday 1st September to see our spaces and get a feel for our village. 🤗

We already see the effort that people are putting in with some fabulous window boxes and planters outside of their homes. 🌺

Thank you, it is not going unnoticed. 🫡

💦 De mucked the grates around the village
🪏 Prepped the areas for our wildflower seeds
