Community Gardening Courses in Full Bloom! 🌱

Our Community Gardening Courses have been growing from strength to strength, bringing people together to learn new skills, share knowledge, and enjoy the many benefits of gardening.

These programmes form part of the Féile na Garraí events, supported by Mayo North East SICAP, Slàintecare HSE, Mayo County Council, Cara Active Retirement and Flourish.

The programme celebrates community gardens, sustainability, biodiversity, and local food growing. Participants have been gaining hands-on experience in everything from planting and cultivation to garden maintenance and seasonal growing techniques.

To mark the completion of the training, the gardens will be hosting special celebration events, where the wider community are invited to come along, see the gardens in bloom, and celebrate the achievements of everyone involved.

We look forward to welcoming you to these enjoyable community events and showcasing the fantastic work taking place in our gardens.

Stay tuned for more photos from the community gardens 🌱

€1.5 Million Fund Launched to Help Marginalised Communities in Mayo. In partnership with Deloitte Ireland, the Department of Rural and Community Development, and the Gaeltacht, Rethink Ireland today unveiled the new €1.5 million Skills for Tomorrow Fund. As part of the Skills for Tomorrow Fund, grants ranging from €137,500 to €200k are available for up to nine organisations over a two and a half year period.
The fund will assist creative initiatives in Mayo and throughout Ireland that give marginalised people and communities the tools they need to thrive in the workforce of the future. Additionally, the fund will help successful candidates employ artificial intelligence in an ethical and practical way to increase their effect.
Projects and organisations that work to improve education and employment outcomes for marginalised groups—such as young people not enrolled in school, working, or receiving training, long-term unemployed people, people with disabilities, members of minority ethnic communities, single parents, and those facing educational disadvantage—are encouraged to submit applications.
Launching the Skills for Tomorrow Fund, Deirdre Mortell, CEO of Rethink Ireland, said “Through this fund, we want to support organisations in Mayo and across Ireland that are already doing transformative work in communities across Ireland and help them scale their impact. We are also particularly excited to support successful applicants to explore how artificial intelligence can enhance and streamline the work they do every day.”
Applications are now open and will close on Monday June 29th.

More information on how to apply is available at

The Skills for Tomorrow Fund is a €1.5 million, 2.5 year fund supported by Deloitte Ireland and the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht (DRCDG) via the Dormant Accounts fund.

Join us for an informative live ONLINE webinar exploring how the One Stop Shop (OSS) scheme can support homeowners affected by defective concrete blocks."Rebuilding with Confidence: OSS Support for Defective Concrete Block Homes", designed to help affected homeowners better understand the supports available and the steps involved in rebuilding their homes to modern energy standards.
During this session, you'll hear from a panel of experts, including:
