We are delighted to announce Michael Devereux as one of our speakers for 'Word on the Street' Join us to hear Michael speak about setting up a Community Allotment and all the wonderful community and environmental activities that happen there.

Michael Devereux is the Chairperson and founder of Enniscorthy Community Allotments, a local initiative dedicated to promoting sustainable living, healthy food growing, and stronger community connections. Through his leadership, the allotments have become a welcoming space where people of all ages and backgrounds can learn about gardening, share skills, and enjoy the benefits of outdoor community activity.

Passionate about environmental awareness and local engagement, Michael has played a key role in developing the project into a valuable community resource. His work encourages biodiversity, wellbeing, and social inclusion while helping people reconnect with nature and sustainable food practices.

Under his guidance, Enniscorthy Community Allotments continues to grow as a positive example of community spirit, cooperation, and environmental stewardship in County Wexford.

We have 2 FREE herbalism workshops starting in June, on Tuesday 2nd June and on Thursday 4th June from 07:00 PM to 09:00 PM. Both workshops will run for 6 weeks with the absolutely fabulous Silja Harms. 🤗

We were delighted to have a visit from the board of directors of Wexford Local Development and the Leader Evaluation Committee yesterday. 🤗

As our initial funders back in December 2021 it was a privilege and honor to welcome all these lovely people to the allotments and show them how much the project has developed and the impact this fabulous multi national award winning facility has had on our members and the wider community. 💖

Community Education in Action 🌱

We were delighted to welcome final-year Degree and Masters students in Community & Youthwork from NUI Maynooth to the allotments this week as part of their Comparative Studies trip.

It was a great opportunity to share our story, discuss the importance of relationships between local communities and state agencies, and explore how shared spaces like ours can actively engage and support the people around us.

A big thank you to for organising the visit. We love opening our gates to those interested in seeing community education in action!

Have you ever wondered what our allotments look like from above? Well, now you can see for yourself!
It's amazing to think what has been achieved in just four years. What started as a vision by our Chairman Michael Devereux has grown into an award-winning community space we're all incredibly proud of.

65 plots. 27 raised beds. 60 polytunnel spaces. A geodesic dome, sensory walk, and willow dome. And most importantly, a community that keeps growing. 💚

We're so blessed to have this facility on our doorstep here in Enniscorthy.

What a magical Easter Monday at the allotments! 🥚🌈🌻

Our Little Buds had the most wonderful Easter party today and the smiles said it all. We hunted for Easter eggs hidden across the allotments, decorated pots and planted sunflower seeds to take home, and had so much fun with face painting. 🐰🎨

There were Easter snacks and treats to keep everyone going, and every little one went home with their very own chocolate Easter egg. 🍫

Watching children connect with nature, get creative, and laugh together is exactly what Little Buds is all about. We are so proud of this little community we are growing.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and made today so special. Happy Easter from all of us at Enniscorthy Community Allotments! 💛
