Caterpillar Club (North West ) Association

Caterpillar Club (North West ) Association The North West branch is the last surving branch in the UK possibly the world. Started after WW2 when there were over 32,000 UK Caterpillars.

The caterpillar club assosiation is a social membership of Caterpillars, widows, family, friends and supporters. A Caterpillar is one ( usually a serviceman but not necessarily) who has saved his or her life by baling out of a striken plane from necessity. Irving, the first parachute company in the UK awarded every such person a gold Caterpillar badge ( from the silk used in making parachute ) and thus Caterpillars were born.
