Enniscorthy Drama group was established in Enniscorthy in 2013 with our first One act plays compiling of The Tinker's Wedding and Ritual for Dolls which were performed on our home stage of The Presentation Centre, Enniscorthy. In the 10 years since it has been established, EDG has grown from strength to strength with a successful circuit run in 2018 where the group won the much coveted West Clare
Drama Festival after performing"The Beauty Queen of Lenane" by Martin McDonagh. The group narrowly missed out on an All Ireland place but took home several well deserved individual awards. Enniscorthy Drama Group has recently performed plays written by local writers, including "Wild in the Country' by Paul O Reilly and "The Farsiders" by Fintan Kelly. The group has delved into the world of pub theatre also with a hugely successful run of 'Well Anything Quare' a locally written pub comedy play by Tom Reddy where, in addition to performing in many pubs around Co. Wexford, EDG had the privilege of bringing the play to the famous John B. The groups most recent production was "The Factory Girls" by Frank McGuinness and was greatly received by our audiences.
2023 has seen Enniscorthy Drama Group back on the circuit festival again with The Farsiders entry in the confined section, picking up some local festival awards along an enjoyable run. The group has many members compiling of actors, backstage crew, make up and costume department, with numbers growing all the time. This is all under the watchful eye of our dedicated committee and Chairperson Liam Doyle.
