True love!!🥰💕
This gorgeous little mini-bully came into our care from Clare Dog Shelter a few weeks ago. Within just a few hours of arriving at her foster home, little Saoirse had already been adopted by a lovely couple we had previously home-checked, who were looking for a friend for their big Staffy boy, Captain🐶💕

Safe to say that Captain and Saoirse are now the BEST of friends! 🤩🤩

Huge thanks to Victoria, John and Captain for welcoming this sweet little girl into their family, and giving her such a wonderful home🏡 And a big thank you to Frankie from Clare Dog Shelter for rescuing Saoirse and driving her out to our foster home in East Clare🙏🐾

Poor Ziggy💔! His brother Slash has received a few fostering applications, but lovely Ziggy hasn’t had a single one. We can’t understand it – he’s every bit as handsome, sweet, affectionate and clever as his brother, and anyone who meets him falls in love with him💕 Can you give Ziggy a share to help him have better luck this time?🙏

We really want to take this gorgeous 10-month-old Border Collie into our care, but we need to find a foster home in Clare or a neighbouring county. Ziggy is currently staying with a kind family who took him in after an elderly farmer found himself struggling to care for an unexpected litter of puppies. They can only keep Ziggy until next week, and we desperately need somewhere for him to go🙏🏡

Ziggy is a bright, gentle and loving young dog who absolutely adores people. He has been living with three children, including one as young as four, and is wonderful with them. He loves attention, enjoys being involved in family life, and is happiest when he’s spending time with his humans🥰🐶

He also gets on very well with other dogs, so could happily live with a canine companion or two. However, any resident cats would probably prefer that Ziggy found a home elsewhere😅

Could you open your home to this sweet boy while we search for his forever family? Fostering is one of the most important ways you can help a rescue dog, and Ziggy would be so grateful for a comfy bed, a bit of patience, and plenty of cuddles.

If you’re based in Clare or a neighbouring county and would love to help, please fill out our fostering form below and select Ziggy from the drop-down list. And if you think you might like to adopt him after a period of fostering, you can be living anywhere in Ireland – just let us know on the same form🙏🏡

Why does nobody want me😭💔😭? I don’t get it... I’m super-cuddly, cat-friendly, dog-friendly, and the humans at CAW say I’m handsome too (though I’m not convinced😔)! Maybe my person just hasn’t seen me yet – please share to help me reach them today!🙏

In case we haven’t met before – my name’s Bruno, and I’m almost 3 years old. I’m a Malinois, which means I’m clever and need my exercise! But mostly, my favourite thing in the world is CUDDLES!!! The humans all call me THE KING OF CUDDLES👑, but I also love my belly rubs, scritches, and just lounging about and keeping you company as you go about your day.

I love learning new things and keeping my clever brain engaged – so I’d love to find a human who’s interested in positive dog training. I get very excited when treats are involved🍖🤩 I’d also love it if my person or family enjoys getting out and about, and taking me on fun walks every day!

I’m living happily with two other dogs in my foster home, and I’ve lived with cats before too – I was very respectful of them, if I may say so myself🐱🐾 Children can be a little overstimulating for me, so I’m looking for a child-free home where I can chill out.

I’ve been waiting for a few months now, and I’d really love for this to be my last ever adoption appeal💔🤞 If you live anywhere in Ireland and would love to take me home, please fill out the form below and choose me, Bruno (aka The King of Cuddles🥰):

Update: Applications closed! Thanks so much to everyone who applied, and sorry that we won't be able to get back to everyone – Multi has been a popular little fella!..

Say hello to our newest boy, Multi👋🥰 This sweet little lad has recently lost the only home he’s ever known... His family have become homeless and had to move into emergency accommodation where pets aren’t allowed, leaving them with the heartbreak of saying goodbye to their beloved dog💔

Despite losing his beloved family, Multi has settled beautifully into his foster home and is now ready to find his forever people🏡💕 Please give him a share to help us find the happy ending he deserves🙏

Multi is 8 years old, and a cross between a Shih Tzu and a Jack Russell Terrier. He has the most adorable little underbite😍 He’s an absolute dream to have around – quiet, calm, gentle and kind. Multi is great with other dogs and children and has happily lived with both before. He hasn’t lived with cats, however, so we’re looking for a cat-free home for him.

This lovely boy is house-trained, great in the car and a pleasure to walk on the lead. He’s the kind of easy-going companion who will happily fit into family life and be grateful for a comfy bed and plenty of love🥰

If you’d love to offer Multi the loving forever home he deserves, please fill out our pre-adoption form here:

This sweet older gent was found straying in a truly heartbreaking state – matted, underweight, and covered in sores on his face and body💔

After weeks of TLC from one of our amazing fosterers, along with veterinary care and much-needed dental work, Trevor is healing beautifully and enjoying life🥰 We’re starting the search for his forever home, so please give him a share to help us!🏡💕

Trevor is around 9 years old and is the PERFECT companion! He’s an affectionate, gentle boy who is happiest lounging beside you and keeping you company. Despite the neglect he suffered, he absolutely adores everyone he meets and just wants to be friends with everyone🥰

He’s great with other dogs, and is also perfectly happy around cats. In fact, he’s incredibly gentle with Liz, the resident cat in his foster home🐱

Trevor is really enjoying his daily walks and has responded brilliantly to training. He’s obedient, eager to please, and a joy to have around. If you live anywhere in Ireland and would love to offer this lovely old soul the loving home he so deserves, please fill out our adoption form here:

UPDATE: This lovely boy is now sorted! The vets found a lovely foster home for him, and he will find his forever home through a rescue in Dublin. Thanks for all the name suggestions - the vets went for Hank, which was suggested a few times below in the comments. It really suits him!..

Are there any lovely people out there who could foster this gorgeous boy for us? Please share to help us find someone! Also, this poor fella doesn’t have a name, so drop your suggestions below🙏🐾

This big sweetie-pie was heartbreakingly dumped in the Clare Glens and left to fend for himself💔💔 Thankfully, a kind person who was out walking found him and brought him to a vet, where he’s now safe.

The vets reached out to us to see if we had a suitable foster space available, but sadly we don’t. We’re ideally looking for someone with experience of bull breeds, as he’s a big, strong lad🐶

Despite what he’s been through, he’s super-friendly and absolutely adores all the staff at the clinic😍 He can’t stay there much longer, so we really need your help to spread the word and find someone willing to open their home to him🙏

Because it’s often so difficult to find homes for bull breeds, we’re considering foster homes anywhere in the Republic of Ireland. If you have good experience and would love to rescue this big friendly cuddle-bug, please send us a message🏡💕
We honestly don't know what will happen to him if we can’t help him💔

We DESPERATELY need to find two foster carers for two lovely Collie pups (or one who might foster both!) – please spread the word!🙏🐾🙏

These 10-month-old Border Collie boys are both waiting to come into our care, but we don’t have any suitable foster homes available right now. We’re hoping to find two new fosterers in Clare or nearby who are willing to open their hearts and homes to these lovely pups while we search for their forever families🏡💕

A kind family took in Ziggy and Slash from an elderly farmer. His dog had given birth to an unexpected litter and he was struggling to care for the pups. The family has done a fantastic job giving the two boys a safe start, but they’ve realised that they don’t have the time to give two energetic young Collies the life they deserve. They reached out to us to help rehome them, and can only keep them until next week😬

Ziggy (left) and Slash (right) are kind, incredibly clever, and have gentle, loving natures🥰🐾 They adore people, and really thrive on human company and affection. They have been living with three children, including one as young as four, and they are wonderful with them all.

Both boys get along really well with other dogs too, but they are a little too fond of chasing cats!

If you could offer one of these sweet young boys a safe place to stay while we search for his forever home, please fill out our fostering form below, and select either Slash or Ziggy from the drop-down list. If there are any kind souls out there who might consider fostering both boys, please write that on the form. And if you think you might be interested in fostering with a view to adoption, just let us know on the same form:

Sadly, we’ve had no offers from anyone to foster this lovely girl💔 Please share to help Yuki have better luck this time🙏🙏

Yuki is a beautiful 1-year-old Akita who we rescued from a horrible situation just last week. The poor girl had spent months alone outside in a small garden, and neighbours had even witnessed her being beaten several times💔 She is currently staying with our director, but she’s frightened of the dogs at his place, so we need to find her a dog-free foster home asap.

Despite enduring neglect and cruelty, Yuki absolutely ADORES people. She is affectionate, gentle, cuddly, loves children, and is happiest when she’s close to her humans🥰

Because she was never properly socialised, walked, or given the opportunity to enjoy life, everything is still quite new to her. But she’s embracing her second chance with enthusiasm and curiosity. With patience and positive experiences, her confidence around other dogs will grow in time.

As we haven’t tested her with cats, she also needs a cat-free home. Experience with large energetic breeds would be ideal. If you’re based in Clare or a neighbouring county (Limerick, West Tipperary, South Galway, West Offaly, or North Kerry) and could offer Yuki a temporary home for a few weeks, please fill out our fostering form below. If there’s a chance you might be interested in adopting her after fostering, you can let us know on the same form:

Thanks to Dan Danaher for covering the Parteen greyhound case in this week’s Clare Champion🙏

In the article, our director Stiofán discusses not only the appalling conditions in which these four beautiful dogs are being kept, but the cruelty and suffering that remain woven into the fabric of the Irish greyhound industry.

As well as calling for a ban on greyhound racing, Stiofán highlights the extraordinary situation whereby Greyhound Racing Ireland polices itself. He also discusses overbreeding in the industry and the estimated 5,000–6,000 dogs killed annually when they are no longer considered useful.

Anyone who has adopted a greyhound will tell you what wonderful companions they are – gentle, calm, affectionate dogs who adore their home comforts and form deep loving bonds with their people. Yet across Ireland, countless greyhounds spend their lives confined in small cages, without freedom, comfort, or knowing what it feels like to be part of a loving family. Thousands are killed every year when they can’t run fast enough or are retired from racing, many others die from injuries sustained on the track, and countless more are exported abroad for breeding and hunting💔

Our favourite senator, Chris Andrews, is also quoted in the piece, having highlighted the Parteen case in the Seanad and called for stronger welfare protections for greyhounds in Ireland. Thanks to Chris for continuing to be one of the few politicians willing to speak up for these dogs and challenge an industry that has been allowed to operate with far too little transparency and accountability.

This case has raised important questions about transparency, accountability, and the fact that Greyhound Racing Ireland is effectively tasked with regulating itself. No industry should be allowed to investigate itself, police itself, and then assure the public that everything is fine. An industry receiving almost €20 million in public funding every year should be subject to genuinely independent welfare inspections and oversight – not left to mark its own homework.
