Wow, what a night to wrap up the 2025-2026 season at Ennis Toastmasters! We welcomed members and guests, as we celebrated a successful year just passed. Big congrats to Gabriel Gregan for Best Topic (the good old days), and to Cian O’Brien, Maria Carey, Neil Ryan and Brid Brady for their amazing prepared speeches, taking big steps in their pathways journeys. A special shoutout to Yvonne Purcell for receiving the Ennis Toastmasters Wisdom Award—for her dedication and commitment to the club as a former VP of Education, President and regular contributor to meetings, Yvonne shared her beautiful poem about our amazing members to close the night. Thanks to everyone who made this season unforgettable—we can’t wait to see you in in September !

For our penultimate meeting of the 2025-2026 season of Ennis Toastmasters, we welcomed fellow toastmasters and guests and enjoyed three wonderful speeches and table topics. The first speech was by Liam Fahy with his engaging speech entitled ‘Running and me’. Next was by James Hannon with a wonderful speech entitled ‘A memorable vacation’. Finally Neil Ryan delivered his speech ‘the Olympic Tourist’ for a second time, working on improving his use of crutch words.

We then held our AGM to review the year passed, and elect our incoming committee for the year ahead, as follows:
Brid Brady - president
Patricia Clune - VP Education
Geraldine Gregan - Secretary
James Hannon - Treasurer
Liam Fahy and Niamh Brady- Sgt at arms
VP Membership - TBC
VP Public Relations- TBC

Finally we were delighted to award Toastmaster of the year 2025-2026 to one of our newest members, Elizabeth Daly. Elizabeth is a much deserving recipient of this prestigious award, as she has fully immersed herself in her toastmasters journey, by completing level one of Pathways, and taking on multiple meeting roles throughout the year.

Next, and final meeting will take place in two weeks, on Tuesday 26th May. Hope to see you then.
