There was a absolutely great turnout today for the Pop-Up Shop in Kilmurry.

We raised €2,500.00 for the Sixmilebridge Camogie Girls.

This was the final Pop-Up Shop.

Over the past two years we have raised a total of €37,166.00 for various groups in County Clare.

While it is a good thing that The Aran Woollen Mills in Westport are using a new method to deal with their wool waste, it is a big loss to us.

My sincere thanks to the women who sorted, repaired, knitted and stitched the pieces and who gave their time and energy to this project.

So take a bow Maureen Flynn (Sixmilebridge), Bernie Anslow (Kilrush), Mary Hayes (Mallow), Mary Woods (Newmarket-on-Fergus), Mary Crowe, (Clarecastle), Sheila Bunce, (Clarecastle) and Sandra (Flynn Maureen's niece), your hard work and imagination is priceless.

We have been advised by the Aran Woollen Mills that they are trialing a new method of dealing with their wool waste and will no longer be giving our group their damaged/waste pieces.

I would like to thank the women who voluntarily gave their time and expertise over the past two years, creating some really interesting items. They are Maureen Flynn, Bernie Anslow, Mary Hayes, Mary Crowe, Mary Woods and Sheila Bunce.

We will be selling the last of our stock at our last two shops on March 8th in Mountshannon and March 29th in Kilmurry.
I will post details closer to dates.

I would like to thank everyone who supported the shop and helped to raise so much for various groups/schools and charities in Co. Clare.

I would like to say sincere thanks to all the ladies who helped to 'rescue' wool panels from landfill and turned them into wonderful saleable items....throws, sweaters, hats, scarves, ponchos and bags.

The Pop-Up Shop would not exist without the strong and committed input of those who were on board at the beginning of this journey and those who have given their time since March 2023.

As a result of all of the work done by great volunteers we have raised a total of €30,426.00 for various groups in Co. Clare.

The Pop-Up Shop will be back in February 2025 supporting Fiona's Cat Rescue Voluntary Group in Tulla.

If anybody reading this feels like getting involved in 'rescuing' the panels and know how to use knitting needles and/or a crochet hook, please contact me, Valery, at 086 368 5030.......and finally...

A huge thank you to everyone to came to the the shops and supported the their community groups.

Please share this post.
