Movember, the month formerly known as November, is a moustache growing charity event held during November each year that raises funds and awareness for men's health. We are both currently 2nd year students in DCU who are taking part in DCU's annual fundraising event Beg Borrow Steal. This event involves us using our good looks and charm to travel to 2 unknown destinations in Europe and then to Rom
e with absolutely no money. This event will begin on February 2nd and we will be racing against other DCU students in order to arrive in Rome first, and believe it when we say we're in it to win it!

So why are we taking part in this event? Our main reason for partaking in this event is to raise as much money as we possibly can for Movember. This is an absolutely fabulous movement and it's aim is to prevent me from dying so young. It deals with the biggest health issues faced by men, such as depression, testicular and prostate cancer and su***de prevention. This is such an important topic because, while all of us have been greatly affected by depression and su***de in some form, many of us don't know that a shocking 1 in 8 men will die from prostate cancer in their lifetime here in Ireland. It's time we for us all to stand up for men's health and it's time to raise awareness.
