Dublin Fringe Festival provides context for new work and demands audience engagement and dialogue. The scale and environment of the festival broadens arts participation, playing a vital role in the fabric of Dublin and Irish cultural life. For 16 days the festival transforms Dublin into an exposé of great creative talent from around the globe. It is a platform for the best new, emerging Irish arts companies and a showcase for the best contemporary theatre and dance shows touring internationally. For artists, the Fringe facilitates an opportunity to innovate, to cross disciplines and boundaries and to find new ways and places to create work. Dublin Fringe Festival, unlike many Fringes internationally, is a wholly curated festival seeking innovative and daring work that impacts, moves and invigorates its audience. Every year, we invite a brilliant group of artists and cultural experts to see their way through the festival, champion the work that excites them and select the nominees and recipients of the Dublin Fringe Awards.

This year’s panel brings together voices from across theatre, dance, comedy, music, design, film and more, with Ciarán Walsh returning as Chair of the Judges’ Panel.

Dublin Fringe Festival is seeking two exceptional artists to join our team from September 2026 - September 2027.⁠

We believe artists make a city worth living in and we want to invest in the work of exciting and ground-breaking artists whose work we believe in. ⁠

These part-time roles are for experienced artists who want to develop their own artistic practice while helping shape the future of Dublin Fringe Festival.⁠
⁠
Associate Artists will work across festival-making, curation, producing, strategy, artist support, mentorship and artform development, while also receiving time, space, resources and mentoring to support their own independent creative work.⁠

Dublin Fringe Festival and Pan Pan are joining forces for the eighth edition of the Pan Pan Platform, connecting experienced theatre makers with exciting early-career artists.

The platform will showcase three bold, new performance works pushing the boundaries of live performance:

Black Transmission by Clodagh Assata Boyce: A powerful performance installation confronting colonial legacy, erasure, and Dublin's ties to the transatlantic slave trade.

Mourning is a Muscle by Barry Fitzgerald: A denim-drenched, tender, and electric journey navigating grief, q***rness, and lineage.

BREAK NEW GROUND: 2026 Bursary Recipient

We are thrilled to announce Tanya Bridgeman (TAN) as the recipient of the 2026 Break New Ground Bursary! Selected from over 200 incredible submissions, Tanya is a Bajan-Irish q***r, neurodivergent, and working-class multidisciplinary artist whose practice beautifully blends spoken word, folklore, physical storytelling, and poetry to explore memory, identity, migration, belonging, and inherited histories.

This September, she brings her ambitious new show, GRETEL, to Dublin Fringe Festival, which we are delighted to support through the Break New Ground bursary.

GRETEL:
An immersive spoken word performance reimagining Hansel and Gretel for the concrete jungle. Two young people navigate a city where survival is learned and protection isn't guaranteed.
Blending rhythmic language with a live DJ on stage, this performance creates an electric experience where the story is felt as much as it is heard.
