🚨Week 1 of our Month to Action! On Friday we were in Stoneybatter, Green Party chairperson/councillor Janet Horner's Green Party Ireland constituency, because we're calling on Janet and on all Green Party councillors to stand with tenants and DROP THE RENT HIKES! 🗣️ Tenants of Dublin City Council, Approved Housing Bodies (AHBs) and those on HAP were burdened with a huge rent hike in DCC's 2026 budget. Ahead of DCC's 2027 budget vote in December, we're calling on councillors to stand with tenants and get those rent hikes reversed. In 2026, EIGHT Green Party councillors voted YES to these rent increases, allowing them to pass by only ONE vote! 😡 The Green Party haven't yet commited to standing with tenants and working to get that rent hike dropped.
For the rest of this month, we'll be spending our Friday lunchtimes calling on councillors from various parties that haven't yet committed to standing with tenants. If you're a Dublin City Council constituent, please call, email or drop into your councillors and ask them to stand with tenants! 📣

Last week we had our Rock The Rents fundraiser in The Workman's Club featuring performances from .everything404 and . We want to thank everyone who came out, bought merch, showed their support and made the night so class! It's important to get together physically, so we can realize how many of us there are facing the same issues with housing in Ireland but it's more important to keep that energy moving forward, to join your local branch and stand in solidarity with your friends and neighbours. Keep organising, keep fighting for housing for all and keep rocking the rent!

We hope everyone is enjoying their weekend, but we need you for one last push this Monday July 6th at City Hall! We have seen an incredible response to this campaign, people are fed up with unfair DCC rent hikes and want to be heard! Raise your voice one last time at the Final DCC Rent Hike Protest!
