If anyone is thinking about installing solar panels this year in our local community, please have a look at this registration form to join our Solar Meitheal buyers club to secure a competitive quotation from a vetted SEAI-registered solar & battery installer to access potential economies-of-scale savings through exercising group purchasing power.

Thank you to Jim, my neighbour for sharing his experience with their solar system with myself Hugo Thompson (Chair) and Tom Cleary (Treasurer) from North Bay Energy Sustainable Energy Community (SEC). Due to some recent interest we're extending the cut-off by 1 week to the 11th of May. Unfortunately any registrations after this date won't be considered for the meitheal this time around.

Please feel free to register for our Solar (& Battery) Meitheal on the form below & share this link also to anyone else in our North Bay Energy SEC area (see map attached), that you think might be interested!

Again, the goal for this process is to get the best deal (quality, support and experience) in the market by acting as a group instead of individuals. Ultimately it will ensure the area is in a more resilient position with our energy supply - in particular in these times of uncertainty and rising costs.

What a fantastic night at SEAI Sustainable Energy Communities event in Dublin City Council offices last night. Some truly inspiring tales - warts and all - from various SECs. Our own Hugo Thompson even took to the stage and relayed our journey to date. Brilliant to see what's going on around Dublin and meet some inspiring people. We can't wait for the next one!!

Could we possibly ever get here? I know Australia has significantly different weather to us but would FREE solar panels (never mind power) be something we could potentially dream of? Would be great to hear your thoughts.

Australia will offer at least three hours of free solar power every day to households including those without solar panels under an energy-saving programme that is expected to go live in 2026, energy minister Chris Bowen has said.
