What a brilliant day at Cherry Orchard Community Childcare Service !
Today we officially launched our Strategic Plan 2026-2030, and it was such a special day for our service.
After months of consultation with our children, families, staff and community partners, it was lovely to come together to celebrate what we have achieved and look ahead to the next chapter for Cherry Orchard.
A huge thank you to the Lord Mayor of Dublin Councillor Daryl Barron, and Minister of State Catherine Ardagh for joining us and helping us mark such an important occasion.
One of the things I am most proud of about our Strategic Plan is that our children's voices are at the heart of it.
47 children contributed their ideas, drawings and words to the plan. They reminded us that children know what matters to them -we just need to make sure we listen.
It was also a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our amazing staff. We have 10 staff who have been with us since the very beginning, and I am incredibly proud of the commitment, care and dedication they show every day.
We've already started putting our Strategic Plan into action, including developing our in-house play therapy service, investing in our staff and trauma-informed practice, strengthening our work with parents and families, and developing our school-age provision.
And now we look forward to an exciting next chapter, with our extension and expansion project, creating 40 additional full-time childcare places and improved spaces and outdoor facilities for our children.
We are grateful for the Building Blocks Capital Grant funding which is helping to make this possible and represents such an important investment in our children, families and community.
There is lots of work ahead, but today was about taking a moment to celebrate.
To our children, families, staff, Board of Management, community partners and everyone who has supported us along the way - thank you. ❤️
It really has been a team effort, and I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together.
