Dear friends and supporters,

as it's becoming a beautiful tradition, on Sunday June 7th, there will be a choir concert in St John's church on Castle Street in Tralee, at 7pm. This wonderful event, now in its fifth edition, will see no less than the St John's Parish, Tralee, the Kerry Chamber Choir, the Kerry School of Music and Performing Arts Junior Choir, the Kerry School of Music and Performing Arts Senior and Junior Orchestras, the Presentation Primary School, Tralee Choir and special solo performances.

All proceeds in favour of Lebanon Trust's charitable projects, towards FAID School for the Deaf and the Association Najdeh's refugeee kindergartens.

A huge THANK YOU to all and especially to our friend Kevin Boyle, indefatigable exceptional organiser of a truly exceptional evening!

Despite the mid-April truce, Israeli attacks continue unabated in Lebanon. This is a story about a farmer's life in the South.

On the other end of the line, Ramzi Shamout’s voice sounds tired. For this farmer from the Abbasieh area in the Sour district, the evacuation order that the Arabic-language spokesman of the Israeli army issued on Friday morning, accompanied by a map that includes his village, was a heavy blow.

"We tried as best as we could to keep cultivating our land, but three days ago, one of my Syrian workers was targeted while riding his motorcycle. He was killed and his wife was injured. Since then, the workers are too scared to go to the fields. Today, after this evacuation order, everything is lost," he laments.

What a joy that life is slowly resuming at FAID. Some pupils cannot yet attend due to displacement, but things are inching back to normal. The school's courtyard had not seen children playing in it for a long time!

More destruction in South Lebanon, where people have already lost so much: homes, land, trees, all their possessions.

While the Israeli army continues its demolition operations in numerous localities situated in the "buffer zone" it wants to impose on southern Lebanon, despite the truce in force in the war with Hezbollah, the municipality of Bint Jbeil has accused last week Israel of committing “ecocide,” “urbicide,” and “domicide” in southern Lebanon, terms that carry growing weight in academic and advocacy circles but remain outside the formal framework of international criminal law.

A big THANK YOU to all the generous friends who made this possible! Through our charity, you supported our partner Association Najdeh's emergency initiative. Now 954 displaced people in Lebanon - of which 328 children - have a mattress to sleep on and a blanket against the cold.

It's amazing how much can be achieved together.
