Well done Paul & Silvia Flynn 👏

It’s not the typical setting for a pedigree cattle enterprise, but in North Co Dublin, Paul and Silvia Flynn are keeping two family farming traditions alive.

Based in a region dominated by tillage, dairy and vegetable farms, the couple run Bremore Farms with help from both their fathers, James Flynn and Bobby Jones.

Silvia’s roots lie firmly in Limousin breeding, and the family were previously tillage and potato farmers, while Paul’s family history is tied to Herefords.

“I think Paul has definitely fallen in love with the Limousins, and the Herefords are good too. They work well together. You have to have a passion for what you do, and we love breeding cattle,” says Silvia.

“We love seeing an animal come through that we have put all the work into to get them to that stage, so it gives us great satisfaction.

“Breeding cattle is like a bug we can’t shake off, and we’re fortunate that our families love it too. If you don’t love farming, it won’t work.

“I work in marketing, and Paul works as a project manager, and we wouldn’t be able to do it all without the help of both our fathers.”

Silvia’s grandfather Larry established the Limousin herd 41 years ago and, along with her father, imported stock from France over the years, one animal of which was the well-known bull Nenuphar.

First we had The Black Castle, then The White Castle and now we have a Play Castle 🏰

Fantastic to see the village’s medieval history being reflected in the new playground and park development.

As part of the design meetings, we specifically asked for a view to be preserved between the new play castle and Naul’s medieval 13th century Black Castle to the north, visible to the left of the graveyard chantry chapel ruins.

This is shaping up to be a very special community space 🛝🏞️

Have Your Say: Ireland’s Water Future

Ireland is preparing its next Water Action Plan (2028–2033) — and your voice matters.

Every six years, EU Member States review and update plans to protect and improve our water environment. As part of this process, a public consultation is now open on the Significant Water Management Issues (SWMI) affecting our rivers, lakes, and coastal waters.

This consultation helps identify the key challenges and pressures on our water quality — and will directly shape the actions and measures included in the next Water Action Plan.

We want to hear from you
- Share your views on the issues identified
- Highlight any additional concerns
- Help inform solutions for protecting Ireland’s water environment

Complete the short online questionnaire or submit your feedback by email or post. You can respond to as many or as few questions as you like up to the deadline of 5pm, 19 June 2026. 👉https://ow.ly/amiM50Z64z3

By taking part, you’ll play a role in shaping how Ireland protects and manages its water for years to come.
