Fingal Chamber is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former Chief Executive and founder Tony Lambert, whose contribution to business and community life in Fingal and his native Swords leaves a lasting legacy across the region and the wider Chamber network.

Tony played a central role in establishing Fingal Chamber in 1994 and served as its first President before going on to lead the organisation as Chief Executive for 17 years. Through his vision, determination and tireless advocacy, he helped shape the Chamber into one of the strongest and most respected business networks in the country.

Under Tony’s leadership, Fingal Chamber grew steadily in both influence and membership, becoming a trusted voice for enterprise in north Dublin and a strong advocate for regional development, connectivity and economic opportunity. He was a passionate champion for Fingal’s business community and consistently highlighted the importance of infrastructure, investment and Dublin Airport as key drivers of regional competitiveness.

Tony’s impact extended well beyond Fingal. He served on the board of Chambers Ireland for 12 years and chaired the Chamber Executive Forum for six years, offering guidance, mentorship and support to Chamber leaders across the country. His experience, generosity and commitment to collaboration earned him enormous respect throughout the national Chamber network.

Fingal Chamber Chief Executive, Anthony Cooney, said:

“Tony Lambert’s contribution to Fingal Chamber and to business life across the region cannot be overstated. He was instrumental in building an organisation that became a powerful advocate for enterprise and a genuine force for regional development.

“Tony believed deeply in the potential of Fingal and worked tirelessly to ensure that business had a strong and respected voice in shaping the future of the county. Much of the Chamber’s strength today is built on the foundations he established through his leadership, energy and determination.

“On behalf of Fingal Chamber, we extend our sincere condolences to Tony’s wife Maureen, his sons Jon, Dave and Andrew, his extended family, friends and former colleagues. His legacy will continue to be felt across Fingal for many years to come. May he rest in peace.”

As Ireland’s fastest-growing region continues to evolve, Tony Lambert’s contribution to supporting enterprise and driving regional competitiveness remains deeply woven into Fingal’s economic story and the continued success of the Chamber he helped create.
