To celebrate the International Day of Sites and Monuments - this Saturday 18th April- the Emerging Professionals will host a morning tour for ICOMOS Members and Guests. Following a route through Dublin's North Side with stops at key sites and buildings discussed through the lens of this years theme ' Living Heritage and Emergency Response'.

Meeting at the Custom House at 9.45 ahead of a tour of the Custom House at 10am sharp, the group will then proceed to Church St for 11.00am via Luas to meet with Dr Ciaran Wallace to discuss the legacy of the loss of the Public Records Office and the innovations of the Virtual Treasury. Proceeding from there the group will follow on to Collins Barracks for an exclusive tour of the Dead Zoo Lab with the Keeper of the Natural History Museums Collection Paolo Viscardi. The tour will end with an examination of the recently conserved and upgraded Victorian Ellis Court Apartments by Coady Architects at 12.30 before concluding.

Following the walk you are cordially invited to join the ICOMOS EPs for lunch and discussion.

Tuesday 10th February at 7pm.

Don't miss the ICOMOS Ireland Members Online lecture on Underwater Cultural Heritage. In collaboration with the International Committee on Underwater Cultural Heritage (ICOMOS-ICUCH).

ICUCH works to promote protection, research, and the responsible management of underwater cultural heritage (UCH) across the world. ICUCH global membership envisions a world where underwater cultural heritage is recognised as a vital part of our common heritage and is protected through cooperation, collaborations, and cultural respect.

The talk will be given by Dr. Connie Kelleher, Senior Archaeologist in the National Monuments Service in the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.

Connie is Secretary of the International Committee on Underwater Cultural Heritage (ICOMOS-ICUCH) and board member of the International Advisory Council on Underwater Archaeology (ACUA).

Tomorrow, 7th November, 6pm

The Annual Maura Shaffrey Memorial Lecture will be delivered tomorrow by the President of ICOMOS International, Dr Teresa Patrício in the Joly Theatre of the National Library of Ireland.

Dr Patrício will deliver a compelling talk on Current Worldwide Challenges in Heritage Conservation: ICOMOS recent initiatives on Sustainability and Resilience.

The talk will be followed by the national launch of the Strategy for World Heritage in Ireland 2025-2035

Join us in the Joly for the 2025 Annual Maura Shaffrey Memorial Lecture from 6pm in the National Library of Ireland, Kildare St Dublin this Friday 7th November!

This year's ICOMOS Ireland are delighted to welcome the international President of ICOMOS, Dr Teresa Patricío who will present a lecture on Cultural Worldwide Challenges in Heritage Conservation and will reflect on the recent 60th Anniversary of the foundation of ICOMOS.

Following the lecture the launch of the Strategy for World Heritage in Ireland 2025-2035
