As part of her training involves observing an infant regularly in the first two years of life, she is looking for a parent who would be willing to participate in infant observation. The observation is ongoing through the first two years of life, weekly, initially over Zoom. The Zoom calls are not recorded.

More than one-third of first-time mothers in Ireland have a caesarean section birth.
In this video, Dr. Sunita Panda shares the findings of her doctoral research project, which looked at the views of midwives and obstetricians on the factors influencing the decision to perform a caesarean section and the views of women of their involvement in the decision-making process.

This project was funded by the Health Research Board (HRB)'s Knowledge Exchange and Dissemination Scheme (KEDS).

Our paper on what maternal health issues matter most to postpartum women in Ireland has just been published.

This is our second article and our first peer-reviewed paper that was co-authored with women. The study wouldn't have been possible without the continued commitment from the women in the MAMMI study so we would like to extend a huge thank you to them.

We're delighted to say that the Women's Health After Motherhood (WHAM) course has been recognised by the 2020 Health Service Excellence Awards as an exemplary project contributing to health and social care services. We would like to say a huge thank you to all of the women in the MAMMI study.

Antenatal classes in most countries have been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, leaving women and their partners with little access to detailed information.

Developed by maternal health researchers from the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Trinity College Dublin, Journey to Birth will launch on June 29th. The free, six-week, online course provides evidence-based information for pregnant women across the world, to help them prepare for labour and birth.

Journey to Birth is designed for pregnant women, particularly those who are expecting their first baby. The course is also suitable for partners of pregnant women or women who are planning a pregnancy.
Designed in partnership with women’s organisations, midwives and maternal health experts, the course covers a range of issues, including creating a birth-plan, how to detect early labour, and coping strategies to help during labour and birth.

Journey to Birth has been funded through the Health Research Board (HRB) Knowledge Exchange Dissemination Scheme (KEDS).
