Every woman running for in the Vhi Women's Mini Marathon is carrying more than a race number, she’s carrying a story 💜

We are so deeply grateful for every woman lacing up her runners for the . They’ve put in the miles, made time between work, family and life, and now all that’s left is to show up on the day and give it their all🏃‍♀️✨

Many are running because kidney disease has touched their own lives or the life of someone they love. Their steps help fund the IKA’s counselling, patient support, holidays, advocacy and support services for kidney patients and their families across Ireland.

If you’re able, they would really value your support. Every donation, big or small, helps us make life a little more comfortable for those living with kidney disease.

Great work everyone. These activities definitely make a difference and it was a very worthwhile endeavour across the country last week. Well done to all involved and to the IKA Staff.

Thank you to everyone who supported Organ Donor Awareness Week.

Because of you, the message of organ donation reached right across Ireland 💚

To our members sharing information in community spaces, to local pharmacies proudly displaying posters and Organ Donor Cards, to workplaces hosting organ donation talks, to landmarks lighting up green from dusk to dawn, and to families and individuals bravely sharing their own stories on radio, in newspapers, on TV and across social media. You helped bring the 'Organ Donation Conversation' into homes nationwide 🏡👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Thank you to every person who supported by talking about organ donation. Your voice helps ensure that fewer families are left in doubt at a difficult time and more lives can be saved through transplantation 💚

Don’t leave your loved ones in doubt:

Blood pressure control very important for kidney patients and everyone

Sometimes you can go about your day for years, feeling completely fine - while high blood pressure quietly strains your heart, damages blood vessels and stresses your kidneys.
The good news: prevention and control are possible.
Early diagnosis, access to affordable high blood pressure medicines and healthy daily habits can greatly lower these risks.
