The Ice Skating Association of Ireland is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of ISAI Honorary Member Dorothy Chisnall on 9 August 2026.

During the early days of ice skating in Ireland and onwards, she was an enthusiastic proponent for the sport. Those in the ice skating community in Ireland who knew her remember an amazing, kind-hearted woman whose love touched so many lives. Her passion for figure skating, an ice rink in Ireland and the ISAI was truly special. She also had such a beautiful love for animals and always showed compassion and kindness wherever she went. She was so encouraging and positive to so many skaters and had such an impact on many of them. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the joy, warmth and memories she gave will remain forever. May she rest peacefully. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.

Catherine goes again later today in the Free Skating! 🙌 ☘️

Effective from 1 July 2026, the ISAI will require a minimum Combined Total Elements Scores (CTES) for passing a test level.

Skaters/Pairs/Couples wishing to pass a test must submit competition protocols for both Short Programme/Rhythm Dance and Free Skating/Free Dance (SP/RD + FS/FD) to the ISAI along with payment of the relevant fee. Protocols from the current season and/or the preceding season only will be considered for test purposes.

As the scale of value for Singles and Pairs has increased the base value of several elements in both the short and free programmes in the 2026/2027 season, the Combined Total Elements Score (CTES) has been updated to reflect this change.
