8kgs - Killiney Beach in soaking wet, pouring, drizzley, miserable rain 🌧️…but were we sad? Never 😂 had just done an amazing cleanup and got a huge haul so we thought we’d just see if there was any bits left over we could pick up! Did we mention in the pouring rain 😉😂😂😂 What a difference from a week ago!!

66.5kgs - Brittas Beach, Co Wicklow. St Coe NS had the BEST cleanup and got so many random finds! There was the obvious beach pollution from the hot weather last week…then more retro packaging all the way from South Africa dating back to 1960’s 😳 There was a lot of girl power going on, on the cleanup as well as proper team work! These kids were true eco hero’s 💚

Nice day to clear my head and go for a beach clean after such beautiful weather!
I was honestly so shocked by how little pollution was on the beach in Portsmouth compared to at home in Dublin! Considering how packed this beach was during the week I really thought I was about to spend a day cleaning but it was amazing!

Meanwhile last night in Dublin when our volunteer’s went to clean in sandycove in the evening it wasn’t safe for them despite the beaches being choked in rubbish!
Going to the beach should be fun for everyone and antisocial behaviour should not be tolerated as it can make it unsafe for children and people trying to clean the beach.
Over the summer try and rember to look out for one another and to be respectful to our marine life and each other

TY CHALLENGE 2026 RESULTS IN …. 🥳🥳🥳

It was another epic year for our TY Challenge, schools took part from all around the country! Beaches, lakes, rivers and school grounds were cleaned weekly, monthly and some just did a giant cleanup per term!

A huge thank you to all the TY Coordinators that signed up…this year had some mighty weighins followed by with their dedicated weekly cleanup keeping their local beaches clean and finally in 3rd place was St Brigids, Killarney who did the most cleanups and found the most amusing items on their cleanups!

Have a great Summer and see you for 2026/7 💚

45kgs - Brittas Bay. 6th class from Our Lady’s School, Rathdrum found 15 retro crisp packets and random packaging that was buried in the sand. The dunes are protected at Brittas Bay but when the storms happen the waves pull the dunes down and what is landfill eroding from the dunes, that comes down and is buried in the sand on the beach! So the kids find all packaging from the 80’s which if it’s in pristine condition is worth money 💰 The kids were delighted with their treasure hunt and have at least saved the retro packaging from entering the sea! There was also a HUGE heavy pole that they dragged off the beach! 💚

39kgs - Seapoint Beach We had a fab team that took to cleaning the beach instead of lying on it 😍 this is going to be a busy few days ahead of us and we would love it that if anyone gets the urge to do a little cleanup when they’re by the beach to do so! 🙏 The councils have a massive job at keeping up with emptying the bins and they have definitely put a lot of extra bins out along Dublin Bay and around the country. So enjoy the weather and the beach and all hands on beck for keeping our beaches clean … our marine life and planet will be so grateful! 🙏 🦭 🐳 🌊 🌍💚

‘Cod Help Us’ is right!!! A huge thank you to for organising yet another amazing protest, we gave it our all to make the government listen …we need MPA’s and we need not to be pushed to the back of the queue in the Daíl… we only have one planet and over 70% of it is covered by water, our marine life and coral are suffering and all these amazing groups are doing what they can to protect our marine life and oceans and seas! If you feel passionate about this there are so many incredible groups you can join including us to help the fight to protect the marine life of Ireland and our waterways! 🌊🐋🫍🦀🐬🪼🦞🐟🐳🦈 🌍

5kgs - Salthill, Monkstown. This tiny beach was choked with wipes, fishing line, sanitary pads and tampons as well as random pair of crocs, plastic packaging, flip flop and ripped cans. There was just 2 of us for this cleanup due to the ever changing diabolical weather that we’re having at the moment… 4 Seasons in 5 minutes 😬🤯🤯
