Remy was born at the Rotunda on 15 March 2022, and now she’s getting ready for a very exciting milestone... starting big school!

Remy's mam, Nathalie, will always be grateful to her midwife Sally, who single-handedly delivered Remy while keeping Nathalie calm throughout it all.

Four years on, it’s hard to believe how quickly the time has flown, and now little Remy is all grown up and ready to take on her next big adventure!

Identical twin sisters Seren Amanda and Everleigh Elizabeth were born at the Rotunda on 25 August 2017, five weeks early!

The girls spent their first 10 days in the NICU, where they received incredible care and support from the team.

Now, almost nine years later, the girls have reached another special milestone and celebrated their First Holy Communion together.

Saorlaith Sibéal was born on Christmas Eve, weighing just 1.5kg💕

Born with Trisomy 21, transient leukaemia and an AVSD, Saorlaith faced an incredibly difficult start to life. On Christmas morning, she was transferred to Crumlin Children’s Hospital for chemotherapy, where she spent two weeks fighting for her life.

After returning to the Rotunda, Saorlaith continued to grow stronger and eventually underwent the heart surgery she so desperately needed. Now, just weeks after her surgery, she is doing brilliantly and is still very much the “Bow Boss”!

Saorlaith’s mum Aine, and her family will never forget the doctors, nurses, care staff and cleaners who supported them throughout their journey, keeping their spirits up and giving them hope when they needed it most. They have a special thank you for Dr Naomi, Prof Mike Geary, Dr Mike, Dr Sean and nurses Emily, Aisling, Bien, Irna, Joslin and Sharon, who made such a lasting impression on their family❤️

Keegan was born at the Rotunda on 30 October 2021, six weeks early and weighing just 1.8kg!

After his mum Karina developed pre-eclampsia, she spent some time in hospital before Keegan arrived. He then spent a week in the NICU before finally getting home.

During his stay, the Rotunda knitters made Keegan a superhero cape, which brought so much comfort to Karina during a difficult time. She still has the cape today, and the family bring it out to remember just how tiny their little boy once was.

Karina is incredibly grateful to the Rotunda team, especially her midwife Carol, the Day Unit team, including Shona, and all the wonderful staff in the NICU and Special Care Baby Unit who cared for Keegan and kept her updated while she was too unwell to be with him.

Now, Keegan is thriving and getting ready to start Junior Infants!

Lilly May was born at the Rotunda on 20 August 2019 at 30 weeks and 6 days, weighing just 3lb 11oz💜

Following a placental abruption, Lilly was born by emergency C-section and spent five weeks in the NICU, where she was cared for by the wonderful nurses.

Now, Lilly is turning 7 and is thriving, bringing so much joy to her family. As the youngest of three, she is adored by her big brother and sister and continues to be her family’s little miracle.

Melissa and Amanda were born just one day apart in the Rotunda in August 1985. They were cot to cot, with Amanda's Mam the oldest mum on the ward and Melissa's the youngest. Their M**s never forgot each other.

Fast forward 10 years, and Melissa's family moved house... right across the road from Amanda's! The two quickly became best friends, only to discover they were the babies who had once lain side by side in the Rotunda.

More than 40 years after they were born, they're still the best of friends. And now, the next generation is continuing the story, with all of their own little ones, also born at the Rotunda, growing up together too. 🫶🏻
