Sebastian was born at 32 weeks, weighing just 1.345kg, and recently celebrated his first birthday on 22nd September, a very special milestone! 🎂

His mam, Bianca, would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff at the Rotunda, especially Cristina on the second floor, who helped her so much, and the NICU team who cared for Sebastian.

Aria Rose was born at the Rotunda at 37 weeks by C-section, after her mam Sophie’s waters broke at just 20 weeks. Sophie was treated for PPROM and spent much of her pregnancy under the care of the Rotunda, attending the Day Unit twice a week for regular checks💕

After a worrying start and many weeks of appointments and monitoring, Aria Rose arrived safely and is now a thriving 19-month-old princess, bringing so much joy to her family🥰

Robyn was born at the Rotunda on 4th March 2022 following a significant shoulder dystocia. She was born with a broken arm and required resuscitation, making for an incredibly frightening start to life for her new parents.

The amazing Rotunda team, including Dr Vicky O’Dwyer, worked incredibly hard to care for Robyn, who spent time in the NICU receiving cooling treatment. Throughout those difficult days, the Rotunda staff supported Nicole and her family every step of the way, and thankfully, Robyn was discharged on her due date ❤️

Since then, Robyn has gone on to meet all her milestones and is now a happy, bubbly little girl who takes on life with a smile. She has recently started primary school and is loving this exciting new chapter!

Then, in April 2025, Robyn returned to the Rotunda for an incredibly special moment, when her little brother Dáire was born. She even got to meet Dr O’Dwyer again, bringing their story beautifully full circle🥹

Nicole and her family hope sharing Robyn’s story can offer a little hope and reassurance to other families facing a difficult start💕

A huge thank you to Niamh and Adam, parents of baby Alfie! Niamh from Carlow has cerebral palsy and scoliosis and is a full-time wheelchair user. Alfie was born in June, and Niamh says: ��

“From the beginning to the end of my pregnancy journey, the care we received from all the staff at the Rotunda was absolutely outstanding. We really appreciate it so much and would like to give back." ��

So for Alfie's christening on 19th September, instead of christening presents Niamh and Adam chose to host a fundraiser for the Rotunda Foundation, and they have raised almost €700!��

This is an incredibly generous gift to share with the next families who will come through the doors of the Rotunda. Thank you and congratulations to Niamh, Adam and beautiful baby Alfie.

Little Theo has just turned 12 weeks old! He was born at 37 weeks after his mam's water broke at 36 weeks. After 25 hours of labour, Theo's heart rate was dropping, so he was born by emergency c-section and needed to spend a week in the NICU. But he was discharged the day before his mam Aaliyah's 23rd birthday - we reckon that's about that best birthday present any parent can get!

Aaliyah sends her thanks to all the staff in Rotunda who helped her through that first difficult week; she says she couldn’t have gotten through it without them, but we reckon she and Theo are made of pretty strong stuff too 🩷

Max, Theo and Lily were born at the Rotunda on 24 October 2018 at 31 weeks as monochorionic monoamniotic triplets💙🩷💙

The triplets spent four weeks in special care, receiving incredible care from Dr Kent and the Rotunda team before they were able to go home.

Now, almost eight years on, Max, Theo and Lily are happy, healthy and thriving!

Their mam Nicola says she will always be grateful to Dr Kent and the entire Rotunda team for the extra special care they received and for safely bringing her three babies into the world.
