iPads for Schools
Variety Ireland is passionate about helping children who require additional supports with learning. We recognise the essential duties that every Special Needs Assistant carries out on a daily basis, in helping children with learning difficulties. By providing an iPad to every National School, we hope that we can help in some small way to make learning more accessible to some. By using upcycled iPads instead of brand new ones, we can limit the amount of carbon produced through manufacturing and international shipping.

The event is takes place in the Kingfisher Sports Hall in University of Galway and is part of the Experience Village of the European Academy of Childhood-Onset Disability (EACD) conference which is taking place from 3-6 June in Galway. ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฆฝ

This week, the Variety Ireland ๐ˆ๐ง๐œ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐‚๐ฒ๐œ๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐–๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ ๐Œ๐จ๐›๐ข๐ฅ๐ž ๐”๐ง๐ข๐ญ checked in for a fabulous morning of cycling at ๐‚๐ซ๐ž๐ ๐ ๐ฌ ๐‘๐ฎ๐ ๐›๐ฒ ๐‚๐ฅ๐ฎ๐› in Galway. It was a truly inspiring event that brought together children of all ages and abilities to celebrate inclusion, community spirit, and the joy of cycling. โค๏ธ๐Ÿšฒโ˜€๏ธ

Organised by Variety - the Children's Charity of Ireland , our partners at CoMotion and Creggs Rfc, the day highlighted the importance of accessibility in sports and recreation while creating a fun and welcoming environment for everyone involved. ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ

The event attracted a large number of primary school children from across ๐†๐š๐ฅ๐ฐ๐š๐ฒ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐‘๐จ๐ฌ๐œ๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐จ๐ง, along with local volunteers and carers, where participants had the opportunity to experience a range of adapted bicycles and tricycles specially designed for people with physical and intellectual disabilities.๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿ‘

We are currently enjoying the beautiful sunshine in Creggs Rfc where our inclusive mobile hub is paying a visit ๐Ÿ˜Žโค๏ธ๐Ÿšฒ

We have brought a wide selection of adaptive mobility trikes for people to try and also side-by-sides, tandems and wheelchair transporter too!! ๐Ÿฆฝ๐Ÿšฒ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ

To celebrate ๐๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐๐ข๐ค๐ž ๐–๐ž๐ž๐ค, Variety - the Children's Charity of Ireland have have been busy promoting Inclusive Cycling all across the country. One of the highlights our week was our trip to the ๐‹๐ž๐š๐ซ๐ง ๐Ÿ ๐‚๐ฒ๐œ๐ฅ๐ž ๐“๐ซ๐š๐œ๐ค ๐ข๐ง ๐Œ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ž๐ง๐ง๐ข๐ฎ๐ฆ ๐๐š๐ซ๐ค, ๐๐ฅ๐š๐ง๐œ๐ก๐š๐ซ๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐จ๐ฐ๐ง on Wednesday! โค๏ธ๐Ÿšฒโ˜€๏ธ

Here we got a chance to bring together various community groups and disability services for a morning of fun and excitement on wheels with thanks to Fingal County Council ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ

The crew from our ๐‚๐ฒ๐œ๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ˆ๐ง๐œ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐–๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ ๐Œ๐จ๐›๐ข๐ฅ๐ž ๐‡๐ฎ๐› were on hand with the dedicated team from CoMotion who had an assortment of adaptive trikes for people to try including side-by-sides and wheelchair transporter. Some even got the chance to try cycling for the first time ever, which was very special indeed. ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿ‘
