North Wall CDP

North Wall CDP NWCDP is a non-profit organisation empowering & developing the North Wall community via education & training programmes, childcare facilities & services

The North Wall Community Development Project (NWCDP), formerly the North Wall Women’s Centre, was established in 1985 by a group of local women who recognised the need for a centre that would facilitate and accommodate local women in providing a meeting place. Based in Lower Sheriff Street, the centre seeks to empower and develop the local community and to improve co-operation between relevant age

ncies, the local community, its stakeholders and other audiences. The Centre also seeks to provide a global perspective on women’s issues, child welfare, social exclusion and facilitate interagency solutions rather than focus on single-issue perspectives and single-agency solutions. The Centre has grown in strength and is now being recognised as a valuable resource within Dublin North, particularly with regard to community development. In 2007 the Centre was awarded CDP status and funding made available to further develop the centre and community through additional personnel and a broader remit. The NWCDP is a not for profit organisation and operates an “open door” policy, where everyone is welcome. The personnel of the Centre are drawn largely from the local community.
