📢 Attention teachers and youth workers!

We're delighted to share that we've been busy filming brand new videos to incorporate into our Healthy Relationship Workshops.

These updated resources have been developed in an Irish context and informed by feedback from young people, helping us ensure the content reflects the language they use, the social media platforms they engage with, and the issues they are experiencing today. By keeping our resources current and relevant, we can have more meaningful conversations with young people about building safe, healthy, and respectful relationships.

Our free of charge, 2-hour workshops are delivered in schools and youth settings. They are a key part of our early intervention, prevention, and awareness work, equipping young people with the knowledge and confidence to recognise healthy relationships, identify warning signs of abuse, and know where to seek support.

If you're interested in booking a workshop for your students or young people, we'd love to hear from you.

📱 Simply scan the QR code to express your interest, and we'll be in touch to discuss booking a workshop.

🎮 We’re very excited to share our new space for children and teenagers accessing our crisis accommodation refuge service.

The transition to refuge can be difficult for many families. Space is limited, children and young people often cannot break away from younger siblings, and they may not have access to their own belongings. We’ve found that many children and teenagers accessing our service take on additional responsibilities, often supporting younger siblings. Their extracurricular activities may come to a halt, and sometimes they also need to change schools.

Thanks to , we were able to create a dedicated space where children and teenagers can step away, relax, and simply have fun. As the kitchen table in our communal living area is often in constant demand, we wanted this room to be multifunctional. A space where children and young people can complete homework, study for exams, enjoy some quiet time, or simply be themselves. We’ve incorporated desks, lamps, and stationery so they have everything they need.

As always, none of this would have been possible without the incredible staff who put a huge amount of effort into designing the space, building furniture, installing LED lighting, mounting TVs, and bringing the room to life. A special thank you also to our amazing graffiti artist, who perfectly captured our vision.

Finally, thank you to all of the children and teenagers who shared their ideas and feedback to help shape this space. We hope it becomes somewhere they can relax, learn, have fun, and simply enjoy being children.

With the sun shining, our team took the opportunity to get outdoors and give our garden spaces a well-deserved refresh!

From painting and planting flowers to weeding and general tidying, everyone pitched in to help create a welcoming outdoor space for the women and children who use our services.

A huge thank you to everyone who got involved. Teamwork really does make the dream work! ☀️🌷

This week marked the beginning of SDVS’s Summer Project 2026, with wonderful trips taking place for some of the women and children accessing our services.

For the families we support, these opportunities are about so much more than a day out. They give children the chance to create happy childhood memories, experience moments of joy, and enjoy quality time together in safe and supportive environments. They also provide valuable opportunities to strengthen the bonds between women and their children, as well as between siblings, during incredibly difficult times.

As always, this reflects the incredible work of our Child & Youth Team, who go above and beyond to support families and create meaningful experiences. We are incredibly proud of the dedication, care and effort the team has already put into this year's Summer Project.

A heartfelt thank you to all the women and children who joined us and helped make these days so special. Here's to many more happy memories throughout the summer! ☀️

The Child and Youth Outreach Team recently completed facilitating our first Parent Peer Support Group of 2026, and we were delighted to share the experience with an incredible group of women who showed such commitment, openness, and growth throughout the process.

Over the course of the programme, participants engaged in a variety of creative and holistic workshops including flower arranging, vision boards, and sound baths — creating space for reflection, connection, and self-care.

Peer support groups provide opportunities to share experiences, build connections, and access support and resources. Our Outreach Team were proud to support and facilitate this space, and we would like to thank all of the women who participated so openly and wholeheartedly. We look forward to continuing this important work throughout 2026.

“To be able to support women and children to live in safety, free from fear, not only as a staff member but as a fundraiser is really meaningful to me,” shares Kim, who’s taking on the Dublin City Half Marathon for Saoirse today. 🏃‍♀️

“I’m overwhelmed with the support I’ve received from my family, friends and colleagues. It’s really amazing to see people donating to such an important charity.

“In my role at Saoirse, I provide community-based support to victims/survivors of domestic violence to enable them to remain in their home safely. So, I know how much we rely on fundraising to be able to provide vital services to victims/survivors of domestic violence.

“Before Christmas I could barely run a 5k. I’ve always been an active person with playing GAA and going to the gym but running was something that I always struggled with. Doing the marathon for Saoirse has really motivated me in my training.

“I’m supporting an amazing cause and my fundraising efforts will help so many families in need of support.”

🧡 Huge thanks to Kim for going the extra mile for victims/survivors of domestic violence. Please join us in wishing her GOOD LUCK today! 🤞🍀
